i stumbled on this article ...
(also attached the link) ...

several intersting thoughts ...
a quick comment about restricting population growth,
several comments about "ecopreneurs" ... can't decide if he thinks these guys are self-serving barstools or "good guys, leading the wave",
some intersting ideas about the future ... home washing (and cooking), personal vehicles, becoming too expensive and we'll see a rebirth of community laundries (and cafeterias ?) and shared ownership of (and rental) cars

Looks like stepping backward into poverty for many people. Is that really where we should be heading?

The Age is a curious newspaper. I call it the Melbourne Parish Magazine, as it has only one interest, Melbourne, a large and rather unattractive urban sprawl built on the flood plain of the Rarra River.

However it has a reliably loony/trendy left perspective, earning it the soblique "Pravda on Yarra".

Cheers

thus spake a sydney-ite ... (possibly any non-Melbourne-ite) ... but then you're not wrong either greg !

mind you thats what Melbourne-ites say about the rest-of-Australia too !!

Interesting article and if Al Gore gets his way then we might see more of this. Since Copenhagen was a complete bust, I think that you will start to see people awaken and see the wool that has been pulled over their eyes.

WUWT has been pulling details from the AR4 IPCC report and finding that WWF and even magazine articles were used are reference in the report. It won't be long before this 'green' economy is hung out to dry and we get back to business as usual.
