Hi John,

OK the site is up but it doesn't running well

After entering the information I click "send" and Upload rises to 100% then I have the error message.

Is there another way to send the image for the calendar ?

Thanks in advance

Hi John,

I have found the reason but not the solution !!!

I have tested with a small image under 1 Mo and it works

download.aspx

but the original file (3600*2700 as required) is more than 28 Mo

I have also tested with a compressed file but the zip file are not accepted

download.aspx

So I have uploaded my full image to gtac scratch directory and posted a small image with the following comment

download.aspx

Could you send an email to the calendar team and explain the situation ?

Thanks in advance

I'll pass along what you've found to the people responsible for the Calendar project and let them know what you've done. BTW, have to tried creating the file as a .png? It might a bit smaller.

We've got people looking at the issue and I'll report back whatever we learn.

As for the issue of PNG versus TIFF, both formats are what's known as non-lossy, that is there is no loss of pixel data due to compression, unlike JPEG. It's just that the PNG format is a more modern image format and one that is not constrained by legal issues with respect to how an image file can be compressed without losing any image data, which is way Microsoft developed and released into the public domain the specifications for the PNG image file format. One of the characteristics of PNG, in addition to not losing any pixel data, is that it's more efficient than TIFF resulting in smaller files without having to depend on any sort of secondary compression operations to create files that can be easily moved across the net, something which has always been an issue with TIFF.

Hi John,

Thanks for those informations about the png format.

The calendar team was able to get my file from scratch. My participation for the 2015 Calendar is OK [bigsmile]
