Hi experts,
I’m working on creating a pWPS and PQR for welding ASTM B148 C95800, and it’s my first time dealing with this material. Could you please suggest the best filler metal for the GTAW welding process?
Thanks a lot for your help!

Thanks a lot for your guidance and advice. I'll look into that information.

We've been successfully welding C95800 for many years with ERCuNiAl consumables. Good luck.

@bruv,
Great! Many thanks bro. Is there any heat treatment required when welding @bruv? Can you please me more detail of it.

We contract our a lot of welding of NiBrAl and NiBrAlFe. From what I see, it welds a lot like cast aluminum. It's relatively ductile so it doesn't need much preheat or post heat. It does require a lot of heat due to thermal conductivity. Weld it with AC as you would aluminum.

However, OP is asking about aluminum bronze (no nickel). That might add a bit of challenge.

@Karik87

I don't think that PWHT is mandatory for this grade (I don't have the access to the books right now so I cannot confirm). We have one customer that requires PWHT for major repairs. Time and temperature are the same as the HT for the castings.

We weld with AC.
