Thanks for the feedback so far guys.
There are two sets of patterns as you seem to have guessed. The two sets of holes are on different planes which is probably more evident with the new picture I attached. I believe the INDIVIDUALLY is valid here since the datum feature is repeated but I have...
So I have a boss with a blind hole going into it and want to ensure a minimum wall thickness if either the hole or boss moves or changes diameter but want to give bonus tolerance so that the part isn't rejected.
It seems like the LMC callout is what I need for both the location as well as...
I am trying to figure out a way to call out a center plane as a datum to a molded part that has only drafted faces to reference.
I understand that it is possible to call out a center plane as a datum using a width dimension as shown in the attachment but I am trying to figure out if this is...
I did not, unfortunately I have to wait until our IT guy gets back since I don't have rights on my computer to update things like drivers. Solidworks Rx diagnostic does say that I have an out of date driver though so that could definitely be the problem. Thanks!
I was trying to make a reference drawing in solidworks where I got this problem that I have never had before even thought I have been using 2014 for a sufficient time now. Basically I put in the model view and it didn't show up; however, when I make projected views off of the model view they...
So I was trying to understand how fluid flow is affected through a transition duct when I found this study that was done. In the study it was noticed that there was a dramatic drop in velocity near the end of the transition near the edges and was also dependent on the length in the transition...
Unfortunately this would not be possible with my model I previously had since it was a completely lofted part. You have to choose a flat surface for the "insert bends" command and I don't have any. I also have more than two profiles for my loft so I can't use the "lofted bend" command either...
That was just the general shape I was trying to achieve when turning a part into a sheet metal part solidworks will default the thickness to a constant value. Here's what I ended up doing, separated it into two separate parts to weld together. My main question was more about how to use the...
Hum, well that certainly is odd. I figured out what you were talking about and I even tried to go back and redo your tree so that there was one hole that propagated itself to everything and it still only showed 4x in the drawing. To be honest I don't know why it is doing that, I know that if it...
Hum, I haven't worked a whole lot with weldment parts. Would it be possible to get the solidworks file to get a better idea as to what the actual problem might be?
Based on the picture you attached it looks like you are cutting a hole through both sides at the same time. Could you use the hole wizard before the mirror and then mirror over the hole cutout as well? That should give you the results you want.
I'm trying to make a lofted part into a sheet metal part but also have more metal added on besides just the lofted part. I know how to use the lofted bends command but every time I use it I am unable to add more to it without Solidworks creating two separate sheet metal parts and two separate...
