    FET switching question

Darlington is not a good idea because of the 2 x VBE , will add to the Mosfet circuit 2 Resistors 1K ohm from Line to Gate and 500K ohms from Gate to Source=Ground , any feedback : daveross100@gmail.com

    2 phase power supply Meaning?

FYI: In the USA here in NYC, only 2 phase 100A - 110Vac =~ 20KW are supply to every house by Con Edison , the two phase has 180 Degree different , it used as 110Vac two sources of 100A [ common grounded ] ,and / or a source of 220Vac the two sources in series , the source has 3 lines L-110Vac...

    PROXIMITY SENSOR - TBD

Trying to use the vishy and ST devices Was fail , very complex did not run on windows 10 , and need programming of the I2C seems the device we will use is the simple SHARP distance sensor GP2Y0A41SK0F , 4 cm to 30 cm distance sensor that need only simple A/D to read the Analog output .

    PROXIMITY SENSOR - TBD

May use the VL53L0X of www.st.com this is a "Ranging sensor" up to 2 meter , that the reported range is independent of the target reflectance

    PROXIMITY SENSOR - TBD

Thanks for the reply's , 1-The Ultrasonic is big size if my understanding is right, please see sizes needed at my question, Thanks VE1BLL 2-The issue was not solved yet=TBD it is on a military project that is using a 3D 930nm optics. thanks Skogs.... 3-Seems to me to use a receiver=RCV...

    PROXIMITY SENSOR - TBD

WOULD LIKE TO USE a TBD ? device AS A PROXIMITY SENSOR TO DETECT MIRROR DOOR POSITIONS, "OPEN" OR "CLOSED" . ,AT CLOSE POSITION THE MIRROR IS ABOUT 15 TO 25 [CM] =[ 6 " TO 10"] FAR FROM THE TBD [RECEIVER AND TRANSMITTER.... [opto magnetic other not mechanical bar can be used] ?], MIRROR...

    potentiometer resistance selection

It is not clear what is the level/frequencies of the noise BUT the RIGHT VALUE SHALL be less than 1 Kilo Ohms if 10 kilo Ohms is a common value so what??? For the reason go to : youtube.com and search for :daveross problem solver GOOD THINKING=TO RESULTS

Discrete I/O to Serial and Vice Versa

Need more details: =about the 24 to 5 and 5 to 24V : How much power / current do you need? does it has to be isolated ? =About the communication , do u need to connect it with wires? what about using wireless wifi ? what is the range ? What is the speed you need the data to flow ? do you...

    Led conversion and inverter boards

Look at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luminance how many NIT needed? this data will help to calculate the needed power from the led strings Any question : daveross100@gmail.com

Make relays hold position during UPS Switch-over.

Here we go: 1-Add to each relay a: diode bridge AC/DC 1A-100V to the control coil, now each of the AC relay will act as an DC relay 2-Add to the output of each bridge a capacitor that its energy will hold the relay to the time needed, Do you know to calculate the capacitors value? Any...

How the heck do you solder SMD's that have pads underneath?

For the LT3755HMSE-2#PBF Linear Tech LED controller A similar issue GND under the IC was solved by creating TWO holes ! The BIG hole allow solder and the small hole allow to check with an Ohm Meter if the solder attach the ground of the IC to the common circuit GND As good Engineering...
