NX 11 Flow - Solver terminated

Hi Thomas, Thanks for your concern. I haven't really spoken to anyone about this issue so far. But I have discovered the same thing that you did. The serial solver works fine, although it is a little annoying that the serial solver is unable to use more than one processor core for the...

NX 11 Flow - Solver terminated

Hi everyone. I am trying to wrap my head around the simulation tools in NX 11 but unfortunatelly I cannot get over this error: Unknown option: -d Error while connecting to host, No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. (10061) Connect on sock...

Variable offset (more than 4 points)

Hi, Is it possible to variable offset a face or at least a curve using more than 2 or 4 points. I have a necessity to produce an offset face that will repeatedly vary from 0 offset, to positive, to negative and 0 offset again. It would be best, if this was a part of synchronous modelling toolset..

    NX10 sheet metal puzzle

IvanNX, well you are missing the sheet metal part. It has to be sheet metal in order to pull a valid flat pattern out of it. When I tried converting the solid to sheet, I was told it is impossible because there are no linear edges to show.

    NX10 sheet metal puzzle

The part I need to design has this twist angle close to 180 degrees. So I guess that makes me proud, to have discovered something that I have made with my own hands with very little effort, but it is impossible to model it with Siemens PLM NX10! :D

    NX10 sheet metal puzzle

I have attached a picture with a very obvious problem to your example. This is also the reason why SolidWorks failed to create this. The middle section of the loft feature is skewed inwards. It is not tapered...

    NX10 flatten surface

It is able to do it with complex surfaces too, it allows the mesh to strech and compress in these regions. The good thing about that is that I could use it to create the flat pattern of the parasolid file I have attached in my other thread (NX10 sheet metal puzzle) since the sheet metal...

    NX10 flatten surface

I haven't tried that, but my guess is it might not be possible since SW asks for a linear edge to keep stationary when flattening. But it easily flattens anything else that complies with this rule of thumb by meshing the surface and then rolling the mesh down.

    NX10 flatten surface

Hi, is there a way to flatten a face/surface in NX? SolidWorks has begun to offer this feature since 2014 and makes me wonder if NX is catching up to that. Thanks!

    NX10 sheet metal puzzle

Have I really stumbled upon something the all mighty NX is unable to do?

    NX10 sheet metal puzzle

Hi all, I have attached a parasolid file. It was created with SolidWorks 2016 using complex side route to sheet metal because the SW sheet metal features were not advanced enough to perform this in a way that it could be flat patterned. Can anyone please try and recreate this using NX sheet...

    Features you wish NX had?

Hi, One of the things that I really miss is a 3D sketch capability like SolidWorks has. I know it is possible to create 3D curves that are end connected but each resides in a different plane. While this works, it does not give you optimal updating possibilities, for example defining and changing...

    2D flow simulation

Hi, I was wondering if NX advanced flow allows a 2D simulation like ANSYS Fluent? If so, how can I define the boundary conditions? I seem to be able to import and mesh a 2D surface, but it will only let me select individual mesh elements as boundary conditions. Also I am having problems with...

    NX10 memory access violation error

I really doubt that my card is supported, it is a weakling by comparison, but for some reason it worked fine for over a year. And now this. I haven't updated anything. I assumed the question was solved because it was closed, and because the creator had written "success" in correspondence to what...

    NX10 Sheet Metal problem

Well, here is a revolved cone (.4 deg), from a rectangular section (wall thickness = 1 mm), and a it has an extruded - planar cut at the shortest side. It has also been cut at both ends under angle. All of these things are absolutely necessary to perform. No thickness variation whatsoever...
