Hi skanskan,
Have you tried Edit - Trim Recipe Curve?
[ol 1]
Start with a partfile containing your Explicit Curve (the one outside the sketch).
Create a Datum_Coordinate_System and choose the X/Y Plane to sketch on, using the Horizontal Axis as the Horizontal Reference.
Project the Curve into...
Hi Marlborough,
As cowski says, ug_inspect will return the information you're looking for.
If you're working in Teamcenter though, you'll need to find the .prt file in Teamcenter's Volumes.
Open a NX Command Shell
Type, ug_inspect -help for a full list of valid arguments. You can choose to use...
Thank you - one and all!
JohnRBaker - you have confirmed my belief that Siemens will continue to support the Legacy Mating Conditions 'structure' and editing of their parameters. New Positioning constraints will require a conversion as mixed constraint types are not supported i.e. assemblies...
Hi,
Upgrading to NX8.5 soon and was wondering if anyone (here) knows what happens to Mating Conditions when loading legacy (large) assemblies that use them to position their components? I think I read somewhere (some time ago) that after NX7.5 they will "automatically" get converted to Assembly...
John... (from memory), isn't there a Customer Default setting that Deletes the Legacy Representations? E.G. Assemblies | Site Standards | Lightweight Reference Set Removal Remove All
or does this not do what is required by this user?

NX7.5.3 / TCe 2007
Try this...
1) Create Associative POINTS that lie at the intersections of your geometry.
2) Use Edit | Properties and Select ALL the points (use POINT filter to help you select ONLY the point entities).
3) In the resulting Point Properties dialog, choose the General TAB.
4) In the Name text box...
djkatt/man2007,
I think you may need to increase the Maximum Height further? I believe the value specified is in 'units of measure' (i.e. mm or inch) and not 'number of rows'. So take the number of rows you table needs and multiply that by the row-height to get the figure you need for Maximum...
In the earlier version of NX I am using, the STEP import utility provides a switch to "Sew Surfaces Automatically"... perhaps this was "ON" when you performed the import. This would Sew the surfaces together and form a resulting Solid Body, if the surfaces formed a closed volume, I think?
Hi,
You don't say which version of NX you are using, but I would look to the Insert | Associative Copy | Extract (Face/Region of Faces) command (if you need to be selective?) and pick the faces you are interested in.

Hi sasha1,
When you create the sketch @4, do you Project Curve (the Section Curves) into the sketch before attempting the Offset of the Projections?
It seems to work for me in NX7.5.

EXTRACT BODY is used to replicate a body that is defined within the same part-file. Use TimeStamp to allow the positioning of the EXTRACT BODY feature within the History Tree of the Part Navigator, otherwise, the EXTRACTED BODY feature will be pushed down the History Tree whenever features are...
I would be inclined to follow Toost's suggestion.
Add the single piece-part as a component of your manufacturing-assembly. WAVE-link the Face-Regions and Curve-Edge Boundaries of the model so that your CAM operations refer to these (rather than the model's entities). Notionally, you can Replace...
