dear steven
if you don't mind
can you share the pull out test simulation model? if possiblehttp://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=343838
many thanks
Can I collaborate with you on this project
I'm doing same area of yours, if possible
we could benefit with each others
if possible, can you contact me at isyhadh82@gmail.com
cheers
Dear All
Greetings and good day
I need assistance on subroutibe facilities - Intel Fortran compiler and Microsoft Visual
I don't have the facility here, I need to run those code in fortran and model in input file ready
if you could possibly offer, i would really appreciate
many thanks
isyhadh
Dear Steven
can you advice
why I couldn't run the input file you attached
i run it ok, but the it turned out as aborted
can you advice why?
you said in the threads that you successfully run/simulated them
i think i want to give some advice on your traction values as well as tangential value...
can interaction and tie constraint happen/exist in the same time?
i have checked your cae file, it seems fine just you have to concern on the surface to surface contact/default
and how did you include the XFEM function?
many thanks

Do you know and can you possibly suggest to me, any free software/open source platform that could calculate mechanical properties for composite? on the basis of micromechanical method and CLT? I know it is possible to compute using Matlab, but I don't know how to form the matrix and translate it...
many thanks, Dan
can you show me more example on using composite section? because it is quite confusing, I familiar with composite layup but not composite section
if you could forward me more link to abaqus documentation or any tutorial, it will be really appreciated
but it is ok if you don't...
do you have any idea on the meaning and explanation of Knn, Kss and Ktt for cohesive element?
how do we get the value of those values for CFRP?
can we get it from supplier?
is the cohesive value for matrix and fiber cohesive interaction the same with cohesive interaction between interplies in...
In terms of modelling composite in abaqus
did you notice there is section assign for composite and you can also model composite using composite layup?
can you explain to me what is the difference?
many thanks
regards
isyhadh
please send the inp file,i can't open the cae file
i can try to take a look and suggest what needs to be amended
no guarantee that it will works, i can try to suggest based on my little experience
may I know what is your material involved?
is it GFRP? your value of Knn, Kss and Ktt must be correct as you modelled in microscale? is it comparable?
and also, your mesh at the interaface must be very fine, between the surfaces of contact
also varying the time of contact and force will do some...
many thanks compositesFEAguru
you are really expert in this field
maybe i can suggest your name to my network here in my country on your expertise and knowledge
maybe it will be of your interest and future career?
regards
isyhadh
Dear experts/engineers
I'm currently doing research on the CFRP modelling (abaqus) and testing (experiment)
I would like to know and get your expertise (advice)on what is the exact/approximate material model of CFRP composite
which is quite subjective in terms of behavior/characterization...
You could use an orphan mesh to create a zero-thickness cohesive layer, but you can also create a zero thickness mesh from meshed geometry in CAE (easily if your geometry is simple enough). To do this, you can create a cell with a finite thickness, say 1E-4, and then once it is meshed using...

dear compositefeaguru
i really appreciate your input and advice
i believe what you said is right, but can you please reexplain to me on more elaborative and simple words
sorry, i'm new and beginner of abaqus
you seems very expert and advanced, hope you can consider as i didn't quite get it...
