How to size a UPS for 60 hp, 480 3 ph motor?

This is not the only UPS load but would be our first motor to be operated under / after a UPS. All great suggestions - just wish it would be a standard option from a drive manufacture.

How to size a UPS for 60 hp, 480 3 ph motor?

Should have stated that already have a VFD on the motor. This UPS is needed to keep the motor running during loss of utility power till the back-up generator is on-line. Since the generator should be on-line in a couple of minutes, the UPS would be sized for to keep the motor running for 5...

Can you change area classification based on activity

The EE rated forklift is acceptable to be used in a C1 D2. A EX forklift is rated for use in a C1D1 rated area. We also have some EE rated propane lifts. We have both propane and electric EE rated units but only electric EX rated units. Hope that this helps.

Can you change area classification based on activity

We have a drum filling area that is C1D1 for 5' beyond the scale. The only reason that it is a C1D1 is that the filling operation is filling a 55 gallon drum through the bung opening and venting into the building. Once the drum is full, can we use a EE rated forklift to move the drum off the...

    Dyno Operation Control Problem

Watching Power Co test neutral with their 20 amp "unbalancer" I saw the loaded leg drop about 4 volts to approx 116 while the unloaded leg rose 4 to approx 124 volts. Since this is still within spec range of 120V +/- 5% they are satisfied that it works. Is it normal for the unloaded...

    Dyno Operation Control Problem

The unit is feed from a 40 amp 2 pole breaker (240 volt single phase) with #8 wire. Smallest wire in the system is #12. Did have a Oscope on the feed line. Waveform kind of looked like a chair with the back to the left. Not very sinusoidal. Only found this waveform with the Dyno running.
