Thanks JHG, but my testing proved that the curves of most fan manufacturers are, at best, pure fabrication. They can't be sued if their fan doesn't perform to the graph. And, the graphs are conveniently drawn so that no 2 manufacturers can be directly compared.
"We were in the same situation and we did find some replacements that didn't work the same at the edges of the specs."
Exactly my fear. When trying to cool electronics in any box, there is always decreased flow, so that's the source of my inquiry.
In a previous R&D position (~1994) I tested...
US-based Rotron Fans went out of business about 10 months ago. The name and drawings have now been bought by a Chinese manufacturer. They are now producing some of the 500 cfm models and the plan is for others to follow. I got this info yesterday by calling the old Rotron phone number.

Often times you can write your own global fastener specs to cover all your fasteners much easier than you'd think. We have an internal spec that basically says....
• All stainless hardware shall be 300 series
• All indoor steel fasteners shall be zinc plated Grade 5 or better
• All outdoor steel...

Is this really just a rain/spray application, or an honest-to-God submersion scenario? I ask because usually these are heavy rain applications (i.e. top of a phone pole) and the customer simply wants it tested to be fully water tight.
Is there a source for dry air or...
McMaster-Carr carries a line of Hoffman Enclosure knock-offs if you want low volumes. Then there is always Hoffman for volume. These come in steel, alum, and molded "plastic", plain and painted.
Remember, if the entry/exit holes are more than simple drilled or hand-punched holes, than...
We've used Bud a couple of times. They have a line of die-cast alum boxes with nice rounded corners and very clean lines. They come with all the screws and have a mounting ear option that makes mounting very easy.
One time I needed to punch a lot of fancy connector holes in the lid, so they...
My company used Comair-Rotron fans for 40+ years, but now with their demise we need to find a replacement brand. We no longer have an R&D group to do product testing. We need a brand with a good cross-section of 60mm, 80mm and 4" ball-bearing fans in AC and DC.
What brand fan has your company...
