We have not had a lot of luck with SE viewer and are looking for another Cad Viewer.
We need it to:
-Support configurations
-Be able to take measurements
-hide/show parts
-shade/render
We also need it to NOT require us to send all the parts along with the file. We just want to be able to send...
I'm using Solid Edge v14 no updates.
This used to happen once in a while now it's happening a few time daily. I have parts I brought in from .step files from cad register and they work fine at first, but then they disapear and when I open them in part files they are missing. If I shut down...
With your mouse right click in the gray area above the working space. You should see a list of toolbars. Click on these until you find the ones you need. If nothing shows up you might need to reload Solid Edge.
I'm not sure if this will help but you can try this. I have found that I have problems importing autoCad .dwg but don't have the problem with autoCad .dfx files. Whenever I have converted SE files for someone for autoCad I'm told the .dfx files translated better.
One possibility would be to save the model with "save as image". Then insert the image file into SE draft and balloon from there or insert the image into whatever publication package you are using and balloon from there.

Family of Assembly is good for a small assembly <15 parts, and when you only have 4 or 5 family members. Once you get up past that, no mater how fast your computer is you start having major saving issues. Also if you are going to use FOA, make sure you have update five installed, it fixes a...
You need acrobat distiller. In SE draft environment go to your print command. In the name of printer pull down check to see if you already have it, if you don't you can go to Adobe's home page and they should have the destiller, its free.
I have a pentium 4 processor. I also have only 512 mb ram, which I've been recently told is probably my main problem. I'm doubling that. Does anyone know other ways to make saving faster?
I am working with an assembly of 800+ parts, plus I use the family of assembly tool, this is for our drawing production. While the file takes about 6-8 minutes to open it takes nearly an hour to save. Does anyone have any tips for making the save time quicker?
