Visual Basic API supports stops with release SW2008?

I had a call with our Dutch supplier, and he told me that Microsoft is developing a successor for VBA (Visual Basic for Applications, better known as the macro recorder and editor, which can be found in almost all Microsoft and related programs) It will be most likely based on .NET, which will...

Visual Basic API supports stops with release SW2008?

Thanks Handleman, I was worried too. I do not understand why the German supplier (SolidLine) made this comment. I will find out. It would create a big problem in the future. Where can you find a Good SolidWorks engineer with knowledge of C++ or C#?

Visual Basic API supports stops with release SW2008?

Hi guys, I got news from our German supplier that SolidWorks 2008 will no longer support Visual Basic 6.0 and Visual Basic .NET Only C++ and C# will be supported? Does anyone have more info about this? I tried to search the website, but I could not find anything.

    SW2006 instability on W2K machines?

Thanks for the info. I was aware of the last two posts. Unfortunately, our IT department is currently working on a budget, and they seem not to care. We are on XP pro sp1.0 And they are unwilling to upgrade for some very strange reason noboby seems to understand. I will try the videocard...

    SW2006 instability on W2K machines?

My company is still using SolidWorks 2005 sp. 3.1 We are willing to upgrade to SW2006 sp 3.4 We run some tests on both XP sp 1.0 and W2K sp 4.0 machines. It seems to be more stable than SW2005 on the XP machines, but on the W2K machines it is much more unstable. This is a showstopper at the...

Problems with Library Features in 2005/2006

Our reseller is looking at it right now, the problem is that the LF which is causing the problem is our most used. It seems that not fully constrained LF's cause the problem. If I change this LF so that you have to give in a reference which fully constraints the LF there is no problem. Thing...

SolidWorks crashing due to large Page File 2000/XP

I talked to our reseller again about this problem. He strongly recommended the 3GB setting for WindowsXP. We are going to try it. About the Win2K SP4.0 workstations they were not sure. Anybody tried it with Win2K? In the meantime I made a "mickey mouse" solution. A small VB program which warns...

Problems with Library Features in 2005/2006

We had problems with Library Features we use for years in SolidWorks. All contain partly constraint cut features including configurations. It seems that the not fully constraint LFs have problems. I cannot insert them on a surface. There is an error message that it is unable to insert the LF...

SolidWorks crashing due to large Page File 2000/XP

I talked together with IT to our VAR. But they say they never heard of this bug before. And after complaining a few times the told that some other customers with large assemblies had the same problems. Their solution was the either the 3GB tweak or add extra RIM. We work not with 15k part big...

SolidWorks crashing due to large Page File 2000/XP

But still how large you set your VM, Windows is limited to 2 GB for applications (the other 2 GB is reserved for the operating system itself). So the 3GB tweak would help a bit, or adding extra memory above the 1GB internal memory we already have. Our IT department does not allow me to tweak...

SolidWorks crashing due to large Page File 2000/XP

It seems that SolidWorks lacks to empty the VM as any MS Windows program should do. Even creating a part the VM grows up to 1.97 Gb before crashing. Adding extra internal memory helps, we already tested that. But 1Gb should be enough. We did not have any problems with big VM in SW2004

SolidWorks crashing due to large Page File 2000/XP

Since we have installed SW2005 SP 3.0 on the systems in my company, a lot of users get crashes due to the fact the Page File (virtual memory) of Win2000 and XP SP1 are growing up to 1.7/1.9 Gb. Then the user gets a message "failed to save file" , followed up by a crash. I tried to search the...

    2006 - shipping when?

Now I see it as well. It was not there a few hours ago. I did log in. Thanks anyway, I am going to download it!

    2006 - shipping when?

I went straight for the download section on the subscription page. But only SW2005 SP 4.0 is the highest version. There are two announcement of 2006. But the lowest on the page links to the EV subscribe page, the other links to the download page. I do not see any 2006 for download there?

    2006 - shipping when?

I cannot find the download on the SolidWorks website. I can see the announcement that you can download 2006 SP 0.0 But I cannot find it anywhere?

    Unfrag.exe Vs Solidworks Inc.

Check this out on the SolidWorks website > log in > troubleshooter > software > the problem is reductible > read 8th green arrow: "Does this crash only happen with a particular document? If so, send it in. For big files, arrange for FTP, use Unfrag and zip the drawing with all of the referenced...

    Unfrag.exe Vs Solidworks Inc.

We use it for years on our local machines. As I am working on a standardisation departement (and therefore creating and maintaining our CAD library) we do it for each model when put on the server. Up till now we had no problem. Today I gave a demonstration to our IT manager. I selected just...

    Unfrag.exe Vs Solidworks Inc.

Check out this on the website of SolidWorks: Unfrag – The use of Unfrag is not recommended by SolidWorks due to the fact the files could become corrupt during compression. The shadow will come back on the next save. The file size is not a key contributor to performance. With proper backups, it...

    Poor SW2004 Drawing Performance

I do not blame our supplier. I have good contact with those guys, we even meet often. I am a SW users since SW99 up to today. I am also a guinea pig for my company. I always test the latest SP, after I have read what this SP fixes. Today I found already two repeatable mistakes in the...
