The best way that I have found is to create a helical or bevel or any type of gear for that matter is to create a surface (quilt) of the tooth form on a make datum and pattern the form depending on what type of gear you are producing. The patterned surface can take advantage of some of the more...
We have set up company standard UDF flies that make the hole process quicker to match what we consider a standard hole. Many times we need threads that are non standard to the Machinery Handbook but are common to us so UDFs seemed to be the most logical. Thanks for the tip on the C"BORE...
Not only do you have to alter the dimensions outside of feature creation, but the note will not inclued the c'sink.
Also hole charting on standard holes will not work. I don't think PTC has done a good job on the hole creation box.
I need to make 3 repeat regions that sorts items into 4 different Part_Type. Part_Type being a user defined parameter with allowable input of: Purchased, Make, Standard, Spare Part, and Null. The null value being inclueded to filter any Items that I need to exclued completely. The tables should...
I have used datum curves and chosen the text option in the sketch then crated a protrusion using the use edge option. I've never had that cause me problems.
Pro/Weld shows up as surface data in the drawing package and will not give the standard filled triangle where two plates come together. Pro/Weld will generate the correct drawing text for the weld but the actual display of the weld sucks. This renders the weld package useless. I have tried to...
Use datum curves and the analysis icon on the datum menu. Create relation at the assem level to add all the curves. Relation could also be in a repeat reagion or layout or parametric note.

You may be running out of disk space check to make shure you have room to run even though you may not be saving files to the same drive that pro is loaded it still checks to see if that drive is full. Also check to see where your trail files are going, nothing eats disk space like tail files...
It is possible but very slow unless you shell out some serious bucks for Winchill, that is awsome at remote engineering. Your company have a big checkbook?
It sounds like you need a bi-directional table. It is hard to know exactly what you are doing using this format. If you could send me the information, don't send the parts, mabey just start parts with boxes and parameters filled out and the drawing with the table, I could sort this out for you...
In response to the above posting, IDEAS is now owned by Unigraphics and like other packages the software will be assimilated into Unigraphics or it will stagnate. IDEAS is a good package but one has to wonder about it's future. Ford will have issues with development of their base CAD software...
I am dealing with a major machine builder to create a fully Pro/Programmed machine assembly. However, I have run into a major stumbling block in the work zone calculation. This may be a little hard to explain but it's worth a shot if someone has a good answer or has done this before.
THE...
When you create the table Pro gives you the choice of rightward or leftward and descending or ascending. The repeat reagion will follow the rule set in the table.
Let me Know if this helped.

Copy the surfaces you are applying texture to, merge these surfaces together into one quilt then apply the texture. This will allow you to specifically group surfs together. If you have regular solid surfs in the same plane Pro will color them the same. Making quilts will avoid this.
