I recommend that you design it right the first time but if time is important a fast fix would be to uncheck "Merge result" in the Extrude 2 feature, this would make the small pads seperate solid bodies from the main extrusion. Then after the holes in the feature tree use the "Delete Body" to...
Here is a Single Wave Spring Washer I created.http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=cf94cab8-0e43-424c-bb82-f827b4e039a1&file=RTS_WW_Single_Wave_Spring_Washer.SLDPRT
Leave your datum the way they are and use a positional tolerance of .01 MMC to A, B MMC and C MMC. Positional tolerance defines the entire axis of the hole not just a center point so it would be redundant to use both positional tolerances.
Think of it this way, if you were to check the part...
We have five full time designers using Solidworks 2007, Mechanical Desktop was our primary design software until 2005. We also have 2 full time programmers running Cimatron who also do some designs in Cimatron when we get real busy, but for the most part we use it for programming cutter paths...
We do alot of fixtures for sheetmetal parts and solidworks does great job, you will run into the occasional surface that won't offset or extend the way it's supposed to but you'll have that with any software.
We also have CATIA, and Cimatron so we do all our own translation in-house.
You're better off making Risers and Angles yourself that way you can use a design table to make configurations for all the different sizes. Then if you find that you need to use a different size in your design you can just change configurations of your part rather than insert a different one...
I design Automotive Check Fixtures using Solidworks (www.advind.com). Files translated out of CATIA are the biggest problem. UG files and Pro/E files read in fine with the occasionally bad surface that is usually fixed during Import Diagnostics. I use Reid Supply Company (www.reidsupply.com) for...
In my fluid power book it states that it takes one horsepower to compress four standard cubic feet of atmosphere (14.7 PSI) into a standard cubic foot of space in one minutes time.
So if you know how many HP your compressor is you can use this formula to calculate SCFM.
1 HP = 4 SCFM
Trial and error has taught me to mate planes to planes when using limitangle mates and multiple configurations with different coincident mates at different angles from each other.
I had problems like everyone else with mates flipping when I switched between configurations. I noticed two...
If you don't want the view perdendicular to the section line you can also use the "rotate view" command after you break alignment and rotate the section view to any desired angle.
Yes, I have solidworks pro I also tryed download and installing just the free edrawings viewer for solidworks called "eDrawingsEnglish.exe" and I ran into the same problem. A co-worker of mine was able to install it a couple of days ago without a problem on his computer. So far the only...
There is a download for eDrawings that goes along with solidworks SP3.0 called "eDrawingsProEnglish.exe" when I run this file it begins to install the upgraded version of eDrawings, when the license agreement appears I click that I accept and then click next, but it won't go beyond the license...
