Import label from Autocad to WF2

Hi all, I've created a product label in AutoCad and would like to import it to my WF2 assembly file. What is the best way to do this? I've tried to save it as dxf, open it in WF and read it in my sketcher, however, it somehow only brings in the graphics and ignores my text. I've tried to open...

    reverse engineering module

Hi Jeremy, It's actually a module that's not included in the foundation package. WF2 and WF3 supports it. I requested a quotation from PTC and it's 15k USD for it. That's when I stop thinking about it... Gwen

    reverse engineering module

Hi all, Has anyone tried out the reverse engineering module? I saw the demo and it looks useful. My main goal is to turn my scanned data points to a solid model. Is it worth purchasing? Thanks for sharing your experience with this module! Regards, Gwen

    reinstalled WF2

Hi all, I've just reinstalled WF2 on my machine and for some reason the way it regenerates a model is slower (even when the part is extremely simple), and as if it needs to repaint the model and datums all the time, even though I am trying to pick the commands at the top and not highlighting...

Does Window XP Service pack 2 affects WF2?

Thanks Heckler! I've found a fix to the problem. It was a graphics issue rather than a WF issue. I just had to update the driver for the graphic card and the problem is gone. Thanks anyway! -gwen

Does Window XP Service pack 2 affects WF2?

Hi all, Our IT dept just installed window xp service pack 2 on my pc and i find that WF2 is running slower than usual. A simple model is even rotating slower than it used to. Will this problem has anything to do with SP2? Has anyone has a similar problem before? Thanks!

    torsion spring mechanism

Thanks Hora and Mark, Hora, i read your tips in thread554-109006 and I'm wondering is it possible for me to do a relation in assembly mode to the pin connection? something like, while part A rotates and pushes spring B, spring B's deflection will decrease. On top of that, add the regenerate...

    torsion spring mechanism

Thank you Mark, I'm embarrassed that all i ask about is this spring! Anyway, I've done what you suggested and yeah, i got myself a tiny spring icon that doesn't really show in my animation. I tried another method which is make the spring flexible, change the height slightly for it to deflect...

    torsion spring mechanism

Hi all, I'm trying to assemble a torsion spring into my assembly. I would like one end of the spring to be fixed while the other end to be pushed by another part to compress the spring. How can i simulate this mechanism in WF? I'm using a pin connection to assemble the spring and to change the...

    Display options

Hi 427591HJ, In config.pro, set DISPLAY to hiddeninvis. (WF) I'm not sure you can change the shade quality in config.pro, unless it's a hidden config that someone here might know about. you might have to set a mapkey to do it. Hope this helps! gwen

    PTC web-based training

Hi Michael, Thanks for the info! the training is not cheap but i'm hoping that my boss is willing to sponsor. i'm the only one in the company that uses proe, so i don't really have someone to learn from and i thought the training will be a good source of tutorials and demos. Regarding the...

    torsion spring

Hi all, I'm having trouble with the torsion spring again. i need to create a torsion spring that has a deflected angle. I managed to do that by using Michael's suggestion- changing the length of the spring. My pitch value = diameter of the cross section. But i can't add the ends. If it's normal...

    torsion spring

Hi all, I am trying to create a torsion spring with a deflection angle. But i can't seem to get the 2 ends be at an angle, rather than just starting and ending at the same plane. Can someone help me out? Thanks! Gwen

    WF2 freezes on assembly

Hi, Whenever i open an assembly, WF2 freezes the model. If i open 1 of the parts and closes it, and go back to the assembly, everything is fine. Or, when i add a part to it and cancel, it will be unfrozen too. I don't have this problem when i open the same model in Wildfire. Anyone has seen...
