Thrust Plate for a Stub Shaft Bearing Assembly

Sorry, I left out needed information. The pre-load on the spring will be minimal, just so that it will not be loose, about 1MM. Expected life minimum 2 years. Thanks!!

Thrust Plate for a Stub Shaft Bearing Assembly

There are two bearings, I may not be a bearing guy, but I know that much. Thanks for your input.

Thrust Plate for a Stub Shaft Bearing Assembly

Being in Plastics, but not in the Bearing world. What would be the best material for a thrust plate? The stub shaft or axle passes through a Housed ball bearing and is spring loaded, having about 3/8"-1/2" travel and must have some minimum preload on the spring to hold the axle firmly as the...

    Rotating Text For Extruding

Maybe I am not understanding correctly, but if your sketch is set up with a construction line of a given radius, then place your text on the construction line. Then dimension that segment at an angle from horizontal, for example. You can then change the angle of that segment to rotate your text.

    F1 Plastics selection help

Try Dupont super tough nylon. I believe it is called ST 801. This material has been used for sprokets, and was originally developed for automotive fasteners that were driven in with hammers.

    Viewing Configurations

I have just finished a project in which the parts and the assembly have a number of configurations. My customer does not have any solid software. Other than sending 14 seperate e-assemblies is there an easier or better way? Thank you.

    Drawing File Doubled

Dear edreaux: Maybe you are using the feature "cavitiy", "circular pattern","linear pattern" , or "component pattern" in your model or assembly. These can be reflected in the drawings with respect to file size. Here is something you can try that will decrease file size. With all other parts...

    Sweep with a non-planar path

The problem is self-intersection. You can convert the non-planer curve to a plane and use that as your path. Then use the non-planer composite curve as a guide curve. The outcome will be for-shortened dimensions in your profile. If this is a problem you can use a combinations of lofts and...

    Drafting a face with fillet

You can model in corners and then add draft, if this is possible. Since the new corners will be children of the fillets no relationships will be distroyed, then add your draft and re-fillet.

    3D CAD Packages

g1a1 I believe you are going to find that SolidWorks is the most logical solution. The DWG editor will allow you to keep legacy DWG's etc. within SolidWorks. Also, it is a very user friendly program, thus, less training time. I taught myself.(with the exception of the 4 day basic training) I...

    Aluminum to High Impact Polystyrene

Is there an adhesive that will permit a perminant bond between a 1" x 15" flat aluminum extrusion extrusion and a larger flat High Impact Polystyrene Sheet? Usage Temperature between 20F and 100F. The part won't see more than a few pounds pull, simply needs to hold the extrusion securely over...

To solve your problem unzip them and drag them to the top level solid works file. The update files contain other updates than just lang. such as mold flow, etc. If you just dump them all into Solidworks everything up dates fine

    Tolerances on Mech Drawings

As "BOO 1" correctly stated your dimension should be the target number. The tolerance is what size of deviation on both the plus side and the minus side creates an accptable part. As far as how to show the tolerance formatted as you have asked depends on the cad system you use. I have...
