    System Symbols???

I guess part of my question should have been... What is the default symbold directory???? And how many symbols should be in there? I've poked around, and found some symbols, but I only have two or three to choose from... and all of those are surface finish symbols.

    System Symbols???

Hi, Our office is new to using Pro/E... We only have a couple of guys working with it now, and our administrator isn't too familiar with everything. I'm curious if there is anyway to get some default system symbols from the installation discs? I really don't have many symbol options to choose...

    Making Mirrored Objects Truly Independent???

Is there a way to make a mirrored object truly independent of its parent feature in Pro 2001??? I'm trying to mirror a curve on both sides of a datum plane. The rest of the geometry around this datum curve is slightly different, and I'd like to modify the mirrored curve slightly to fit the...

    Start Parts

I too have a question for setting up start parts... (ver. 2001) I've created a start part for our company (since I'm the only one with experience in Pro/E I'm in charge of everything). At my old place of employment, when we created a new model, we were prompted to put in the new file name and...

    What Gives? - Round Problem

So, this has turned into a very strange problem. I belive I am having trouble with the accuracy. I have looked at the model that Moroso created. He has it set up exactly as I need it. (Thanks Moroso). However, I still have problems on my end. I can open Moroso's file just fine. However...

    What Gives? - Round Problem

I'm running 2001. I checked the forum (as always) before posting, but didn't find any answers. PTC knowledge base is a mess trying to sort through sometimes. Just thought I could get a quick answer here. Guess I'll refrain from posting in the future unless it's a last resort! What I'm doing...

    What Gives? - Round Problem

I'm trying to put a round into my model. Ultimately, I'd like to have a variable round. Here's what's weird though... If I put in a constant round on this edge with a radius of 16, the round goes in just fine. When I try to turn the round into a variable round - and if I select just the...

Easy Way to find Cross Sections of a pipe without Behavior Modeling?

Also, I know I can create a X-section and get the area from that, however, the plane intersects my tube at more than one location, and I only want the area where it is normal to the curve at each point. So, in effect, the area that I can get from the X-section is too large. Perhaps there's a...

Easy Way to find Cross Sections of a pipe without Behavior Modeling?

Hi, I'm wondering if there's an easy way to get cross sectional area of a "pipe" (or tube if you will) normal to a curve through the middle of the tube? I've used the behavior modeling before, but I don't have access to a license now. The method I'm using has been putting points on the curve...

    Question about draft on surfaces

I'm asking this for a buddy of mine. He's new to UG (NX) and is having problems drafting surfaces. As far as he knows, he can only select a plane or an edge as the neutral reference for the drafting angle. He wants to know if it's possible to select a surface as the neutral reference. Can...

    Section lines on separate sheet...

I don't know if he means the section arrows or putting an actual section view on another sheet. Anyway, the solution is the same... To put the section arrows on a parent view, when you want the actual section view on another sheet, you need to create the section view on one sheet, select the...

Tips for Handling Revision Control with Customer?

I'll go ahead and answer my own question... I created the Parameter "Revision" and set a letter to that parameter. Then, I went ahead and created a note that references the revision parameter and attached that to the default coordinate system of the part. Now, I can see the part revision...

Tips for Handling Revision Control with Customer?

That's a simple enough solution - Only question is - is there any visible way to show what version of the model (in part or assembly mode) you're working on without having to dig into the parameters. I know it's easy enough to put a revision letter that takes the data from a parameter in the...

    Reducing File Size Question

Why is it that if I suppress all but the first feature of a model and save it to disk that the file size is considerably smaller than if I saved the same model with all the features in a resumed state? This really makes no logical sense to me. All of the same information is contained within the...

    Tolerances in drawings

If you have a lot of dimensions that you want to add the tolerances back to, you may want to set up a mapkey that will allow you to select many dimensions at once. I just did this recently and have found that it's very useful - especially when there are many dimensions that will be using the...

Tips for Handling Revision Control with Customer?

Does anyone have any advice for how to handle model revisions with a customer? Our company only has one pro/e seat (for now) so we don't use Intralink. We're doing some design work with a company in Korea. Instead of having to learn all their drawing standards, they are doing the drawings for...
