    Tilting pad journal bearing design

Hi. The front side of pads (near shaft) is really important. But it is unlikely that the back part of the pads is not important, for these reasons: Suppose the curvature of the back of the pad is the same as the inner curvature of the housing, in this case the pads do not perform any tilting...

    Tilting pad journal bearing design

Hello. Friends, please help me in the design of the tilting pad radial bearing. I did not find any useful information about the curvature of the back of the pad in these bearings. Apparently, this curve is called backland. What are the design principles of this curve based on?

    Oil pressing shrink fit

Hello everyone, I'm currently working on fitting a hydraulic press gear onto the main shaft of a gearbox, and I could use some guidance on the calculations and procedures involved. I'm looking for advice on how to properly calculate and execute the installation of a hydraulic press gear onto the...

    Use journal with ball bearing

Hi guys I saw a multistage centrefugal pump yesterday and two things surprised me. 1- one side of pump has radial journal sleeve and other side has two angular contact bearing with also radial journal sleeve too. Is it correct? As you know anti friction bearings don't have axial clearance and in...

    Stud bolt of impeller

dear Johnny if I'm not mistaken, stud is M16 and pressure of jack is 375 bar.

    Stud bolt of impeller

Thank you Johnny for your reply. please apologize me. Actually first we use special tool for tension stud according document value then tight nut normally. so we dont know any thing about elastic or plastic elongation. is it necessary to change stud in this state or not? thanks again

    Stud bolt of impeller

Hi guys I have a question about stud bolt of high speed impeller rotor. Actually we have high speed compressor (about 40000rpm) in our plant. After some year we change impeller due high erosion, with new one. We know amount of impeller torque of stud and because of high defection, it's tight and...

Back of pads curve in tilting pad Journal Bearings

Hi guys i am a little confused in tilting pad journal bearing curves. i know concept of preload and design factors in pads curve in Babbitt side (shaft side actually) but what is radius of back of pads? (in attached file is named R out) as we know in pivot type, back of pads contact with...

clearance of 5 tilting pad journal bearing

actually our machine is old and non experts change its clearance before. i dont know any idea about ID (housing bore) but bearing OD is 110mm and CM said it has looseness in system. so dose it has any reference to determination clearance? what can i do?

clearance of 5 tilting pad journal bearing

can you Explained how i can measure crush? i heard two Definition about it. 1.it is clearance between top bearing and ID of housing 2.it is clearance between upper and lower housing while upper housing bolt tight with hand i know actual that two are same but what is your suggestion or prefer?

    bad journal bearing damping

Hi friends. do you have any plot of bad bearing damping (tilting pad, simple journal, multi lobe ...). its interesting for me to know bad damping signs in vibration behavior.

Hi how can i design rolling elemen

Hi how can i design rolling element bearing for defined load and speed? absolutely it have limits and procedure. i need it for bear 200KN and 3000 rpm speed.

Hi we have 3 stage integrally gear

thanks Mr. Pellin probes area was a good point. its bearings are 5 shoes tiiting pad and its not show 1x and 90 degree phase (or 30 less or more). as i knew shaft unbalance observed on previous condition. may it different with different bearing type? tilting pad, 3 lobe, lemon type and etc.

Hi everybody i observed high speed

thanks. its integral gear type. but bearings clearance and also bullgear and pinion backlash was checked and found OK.

Hi everybody i observed high speed

Hi everybody i observed high speed compressor with high 7x (1x,2x,...,7x). machine semiopen impeller has 7 main blade too. this is my question: is it any relation? and what can rise all x? (x means 1rpm of rotor)

Hi we have 3 stage integrally gear

Hi thanks rotw actually machine tripped because of 3rd stage vibration and we just replace impeller and bearing of it. after dismantle the machine we observed 3rd stage impeller in bad shape because of excessive wear. but 1rd and 2rd stage had no problem. we knew most of failure causes refer to...

Hi we have 3 stage integrally gear

Hi we have 3 stage integrally geared compressor. after unbalance 3th stage it change with new one and 3th bearings change too but it trip after start because of high vibration on 3th stage. 3th stage rpm: 40000 1th and 2th critical speed: 11000 - 34000 bearing: tilting pad with 5 pads. load...

    Compressor High Vibration

Hi i heard we can say shaft is unbalance when there is 1x in range of 60-120 degree phase. is it possible it happens in another shape with tilting pad journal bearing?

Hello everybody 1. when do we need

Hello everybody 1. when do we need high speed balance exactly in industry? 2. is it possible a balanced rotor in 40000 rpm (above second critical speed), show unbalance in 3000 rpm balance machine؟
  20. Hesam267

what are balance speed depend on???

thanks guys its not rigid of course. let me check critical speed. i just new it has 2 critical speed.
