Hi, everyone. I recently used general contact to define the surface contact between two shell component. But the result show both positive and negative cpress value. I checked the allow separation, what else that might be wrong can lead to this result? Thanks
Hi everyone, I have two solid parts in hypermesh, they have a common face, but this common face is only part of each surface, is it possible to only merge part of surface, not whole surface?
I want to assign elastic-plastic material behavior to the bushing, but stuck at the elasticy . It has linear, nonlinear and rigid choice, rigid is simple but how to give a elastic modulus of 200Gp to it, the interface is hard to understand. Someone know this?
Thank you all for replying. I used tie and embeded constrain, both of them produce seriously stress concentration and result none continual stress in the contact area. Rigid connection is not what I want. Finally I used shell to solid coupling that produced nicer results. So Denial, it is proved...
Hi,
Rb1957
I want to connect a shell surface to a cylinder. I have tried to use shell to solid even though it give good results but I want to use another way to prove it is right.
Hi,Prebasha
I have a question about (1) :in abaqus is it possible to merge nodes on two parts
another question about (2) : If shell and solid have different thickness, can I do this?
I am trying to connect a solid cylinder to a shell plate, anyone have some idea how to connect them in Abaqus? Any idea is appreciated. bending moment will be transmitted..
thank yaston4 and Icebreakersours‘s reply. Sorry for the confusing question. I need to know the force on a section, not a surface. can CAE pick all the nodes on the section? not so familiar with inp.....Is modifying INP the only possible way?I tried by angle but can only select surface nodes...
