3DDave,
when I say “data”, I mean all the information to be specified on:
▪ the documents which prescribe what to do (procedures, working instructions, etc.),
and
▪ the forms to be filled in to record what has been done (reports, certificates, etc.),
like (but not limited to)...
Every day we find ourselves to issue numerous procedures, instructions, reports and painting certificates, by manually entering the same data more than once in different MS Word or Excel files.
I feel the need for a tool in which I can enter the data set of each single supply once and for...
I agree with the above posts: as far as I know, since they simply certify that a certain test was performed on a certain date with certain results, fire test certificates themselves DO NOT EXPIRE.
Maybe the resulting product range qualification could change, if the relevant rules of...
The February 2015 edition of the Shell DEP 39.01.10.12-Gen. specification still amends and supplements ISO 15156:2009 standard, which in the meantime has been superseded by ANSI / NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156:2015.
(See also thread338-420050 for more background on previous editions).

Alfred Philips,
how long are the piping sections?
Some Manufacturers may supply double-flanged triple-offset valves with extended, even customized, face-to-face dimensions (usually intended to replace existing gate valves): perhaps they may replace your "Piping section>>Lug butterfly...
Bharti_,
in addition to the great post from Danlap above, maybe you’ll find some more information by reading these old discussions (yeah, some references should be updated… especially about website links and Company names; but the concepts are still valid, I guess) and new videos:

I guess C95800 material grade is sometimes selected for naval or off-shore services (mainly salt water and/or fire-fighting systems) because it is specified by MIL-B-24480A (1991) and other military standards.
This grade has also been added for the first time in the 2017 edition of ASME...

Of course, as long as the face-to-face dimension is sufficient to realize the desired valve trim design, the valve body ends style (wafer, lug, butt-weld or double flanged) has nothing or little...
I once saw a DN 250 testing loop at a control (ball) valves Manufacturer’s facility right out of Milan (Italy), where they worked in collaboration with the Engineering Department of the local “Politecnico” University.
Always in Northern Italy, a similar size may be tested also by SIET...
Thank You again, Steve!
I got your points, they sound consistent and result useful to me; but, sorry, I have to disagree about typographical readability: I remain convinced that it would be clearer if the proper cells were merged into one… more or less like in the attached cutout...
Thank you Steve, thank you Ed!!
I’m not looking for more corrosion resistant alloys, I’m only trying to understand the limits for austenitic stainless steels and, as I said before, the graphical format of the table (especially the solid border lines of each and every cell) doesn’t help...
I’m not sure on how the table in object should be read.
Do both the 2nd and the 3rd rows refer to “Austenitic stainless steel from materials type described in A.2”?
So those materials should be used for service fluids with:
- chlorides concentrations ≤ 50 mg/l
or
- H2S partial...
Due to the very short face-to-face dimension of triple-offset valves, the valve body walls may result well heated by the surrounding (upstream and downstream) pipe and by the service fluid inside itself, hence the actual need for steam jacket all around the lug or wafer style valve bodies should...
Hi to All!!
Can anybody suggest a laboratory capable of performing the compression and bend type tests described in Annex B and Annex C of EN 488:2015 standard?

As far as I know, Quadax is a particular triple offset (butterfly) valve, marketed as “quadruple offset”: if this valve type may be an option (instead of ball valves) for the application under exam, many threads about that may be read within this Forum.
See, for example:
- thread408-355807...
Please note that latest edition of the above mentioned ANSI FCI 70-2 standard is dated 2013:

The same requirements are included in IEC 60534-4 as well:

Hello gerhardl,
THANKS for the clarification!!
As a matter of fact, triple-offset valves are manufactured in double flanged, lug, wafer and also butt-weld end styles (and sometimes even butt-weld with top-entry or side-entry additional flanges as well, even if - in my humble opinion - that’s...
In general terms, I agree with gerhardl.
There’s only one thing I can't understand, I’m afraid: what’s the meaning of “Variation: not flanged, see above” at point 3?
Thanks,
