    Float Helicoil Options

I would agree that this problem should not need a floating helicoil to fix. Our normal practice (typically transmission & accessory cases) is to have the basic non-floating MS21209 helicoil take care of clamping (the mating part having a hole large enough to tolerate helicoil position...

Citrix vs Remote Desktop vs Hardware

Hi, we've been working remotely for about 3 weeks now and here's my 2c: 1) We use Remote Desktop to log into the work PC. So long as the work PC is left switched-on, it works great. We dont have a PDM system so that's not an issue for us. 2) If you don't have multiple monitors at home but do at...

Office 2013 and V5 Macro (VBA)

Thanks, Ferdo. I installed Office 2013 to see what happened and, as feared, my macro had a problem. The error message I get is "Macros Raised An Unexpected Error 5 (Invalid Procedure Call or Argument)" I'm going to see if I can fix it later, but just to give you all a heads-up that, apart from...

Office 2013 and V5 Macro (VBA)

My employer is considering installing Office 2013 and, while I am trying not to let its awful aesthetics turn me away, I was wondering if anyone here has experienced any issues with Office 2013 and Catia Macros (VBA). I'm especially interested in Excel 2013 as I frequently import/export large...

Fit drawing sheet - will not fit entire sheet

I see that you checked for elements in the blank space, but did you search for 'un-pickable' items as well? If geometry has been set to un-pickable, then you'd need to use the 'Advanced' tab in the 'Search' function. Either type 'Drafting.*.Pick=FALSE' into the 'Composed Query' window (see...

Editing Material and applying an Image as the Texture

Thanks for your response, Iscariot (I gave it a star). I watched the video and learnt a neat trick from it.

    90deg multi-section (advice needed)

You could try using a 'Fill' or 'Blend' instead of multi-section It'd help if you had a support surface for the green curve. Can you sweep a line around the green curve? Or extrude it downwards if it's planar.

    Measure Volume Discrepancy/Inconsistency

Thanks, Ferdo. Perhaps it is indeed the case that the combined rounding is causing the error. All the partbodies involved have been modeled on the same workstation and by the same user/login with the precision remaining the same throughout.

    Measure Volume Discrepancy/Inconsistency

I'm stumped by an error I am experiencing in Part Design (V5-6R2014) and I am hoping one of you experts here can help me understand. I already searched the FAQ to no avail. I got some good suggestions from the COE forum, but still haven't gotten to the bottom of the problem. I've attached a...

    Join a Surface and fills

Another option is to use the 'Remove Face' command (it's in the Part Design workbench) on the hole in the solid block before extracting the surface.

    Extremum Command in v5-6R2013

It should be in the 'point' menu of GSD. You've probably already expanded it to no avail. The 'Extremum' command does not come with all versions of V5 GSD. My ex-employer had the 'Express' setup and did not have 'Extremum' until they upgraded to the HDX & HCX configurations. Missing, too, from...

    Fillets in machining

Hi, Your question could be either "What fillet radii should I use" or "How do I add fillets to a part I model in V5" If it's the former, and it's metal parts you are working with, There's lots of design guides on the internet, eg: http://procnc.com/images/content/Design_Guide_Rev_C.pdf The...

    Old Blueprints as Wall art?

If blueprints of Aerospace or Spacecraft are of interest, then you might like the website http://aerospaceprojectsreview.com/ and its specific Blueprint/'Cyanotype' page http://www.aerospaceprojectsreview.com/catalog/cyan.htm The guy who runs it has made great efforts to get 'Blueprint'...
