    Installation direction of heat exchangers

Hi. I cannot find the answer anywhere so I'm asking here. Is it less efficient to install a plate heat exchanger laying down with the plates facing upwards? If so why is that? Regards/ Dimitri

    Solidworks movable mates.

Hi. I have a question about a mate in an assembly. I have a bolt cutter that I want to be movable as you can see in pic 1jpg. I want to be able to pull on one handle to open the jaws. How do I do that? How do I prevent what has happen in pic broken.jpg? 1.jpg: broken.jpg...

Fluid flow 3 user defined generic

Yes i have thought about that but the user defined generic is a special type of filter that has multiple areas. i guess i will have to go with multiplying by a mean A for this filter. Thank you advance!

Fluid flow 3 user defined generic

Q=v : cant be correct. They are two different variables Q= flow, witch to my knowledge is dependent upon the booster specified in FF3 and v is the mean flow velocity. Am i missing something?

Fluid flow 3 user defined generic

Hi again. Thank you for your input. So to specify: I want to use the functionality of FF3 (Fluid Flow 3) to determine if a specific pump can cope with different heights above a tank. the pump will supply a filter that will give a pressure drop. However i am unfamiliar with the Defining...

Fluid flow 3 user defined generic

Hi. Im using FF3 and want to see if a pump will be sufficient in different setups. Behind the pump is a user defined generic with a defining equation: K+ ABQ^n+CD^m, where Q is given by what ever pump i put in The input to the user defined generic i have is X*v^2 (where V is velocity) for...

    Exact pumping

Thank you for all the answers. I to have come to the conclution that a level switch is the only good option. i just wanted a second opinion. /D

    Exact pumping

Hi again all. Let me clarify my question with a diagram: I want to add one process to both tanks, This process is supplied with water by P1 from both tanks and drains from the process to both tanks. The tanks have a height difference, Delta H. The tanks also communicate via pump P2. But pump...

    Exact pumping

Hi All. Im wondering if there is a way to pump water to and from 2 tanks without risking overflow in one tank, and without using any controll system like levelsenosrs or flow controlled valves? My experience is that you will never get an exact 50/50 split of water i a T connection for example.

    Tolerace understanding.

Thank you for your reply. I understand the confusion sorry about that. A self tapping screw of 2,9 mm requires a 2,4 mm hole in a 2 mm aluminium sheet. Let me try to reexplain. I am Placing one aluminium sheet on to a second aluminium sheet. These two sheets are 24 mm long and y mm high...

Hi, i am completely new to this forum and i have decided to join and ask people for help. I'm to embarrassed to ask my colleagues so i will ask you. I have a simple problem that has been on my mind for a while now. see pic below...
