Right, I don't see why you cannot dimension to the centerline instead above. screw shaft would be 1.25 and top corner of head would be 3.5. I'm confused why people think it's not possible or easy to do this.

I must be totally missing something. You can dimension any line pretty much any way you want in NX...
I revolve sketches about their reference axis all the time and it is a breeze. Maybe we are not on the same page.

I think I figured it out. This only happens when the center point of the circle is located on a CSYS origin point. If the circle is created about a regular point or an arbitrary location it does not occur. I tried several configurations and every time the circle is centered on a CSYS it...
I'm not sure exactly, that seems odd. Just curious, why do you need to do that. Also why are you not doing it in a sketch. If you are extruding this shape, you do not need to trim the curves and you can just select the curves you want. Leaving the full circles intact is a better reference-driven...
Is this in a sketch or with basic curves? Also what curves are you trimming, I cannot tell from your image file.

Thanks Cowski, had no idea there was that much angst about it. It appears the devs have corrected this in NX 11, there is now an option to disable popups in the customize->shortcuts tab. Life is better now...

Hard to tell from your description, but Bridge Curve or Fit Curve should do what you want. Bridge Curve easily allows you to keep tangency to the connecting curve(s), and fit curve allows you to make a 3D curve through X number of points anywhere in modeling space.

The dimensional tool in sketch for circles and arcs (radius and diameter) is combined into one function. "Radial Dimension".
Using this function on a circle, you just change the option to "Diametral" instead of "Radial".
Why have two functions when you can do it all with one...

You mean view in 3D and spin it around? I've only heard of that type of thing with 3D PDF. I would be surprised if PowerPoint was able to view CAD files in 3D.

There are a couple ways to do this. Using quickpick, you can select the component itself, it is the one with the yellow cube next to its name.
Or you can use the pre-selection filter to be set to "components" only which will only allow you to grab components and not individual geometry pieces...
