Just a thought, but if we are trying to evaluate a seal failure, why are you posting pictures of the impellers?
Lets see the seal faces, sleeves etc. Maybe we could be of some help? their condition would be more telling than the outside of the impellers.
Cheers!
Here is a procedure for you.
A note of caution as well, if you are only turning the motor shaft, check for run out on the hub on the gear box hub 1st, otherwise it will throw off your adjustment readings.
Also, why is the motor offset so large? That seems to be quite a lot of thermal growth...
The Goulds Pumps web site has a large technical data section which has a lot of good information. Link is http://www.gouldspumps.com/cat_technews_0005.html
This will take you to the introduction page for the technical information and you can select area's of interest from there.
Hope this...
danielanarine,
You need to be a little more specific in your request. What is causing the "wear"? Is it erosion, corrosion, both. What is the operating temperature, flow and head conditions etc...?
Do yourself a favour and have a proper vibration analysis done. Saying the pump now vibrates badly does not tell anyone anything signifigant.
A vibration analysis will give you the information you need to properly diagnose and then correct the problem.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
Assuming clean fluid, no solids, a Goulds 3935 centrifugal multistage is a good pick. Very competitive in this flow range and cheaper than a recip style.
phil29,
You've listed some loose facts but not enough detail to give you a precise answer.
1. What is the pump length below the discharge head? It is common on what are termed "Close coupled" pumps, the bowl assembly is bolted to the underside of the discharge head. In these cases, depending on...
LabOwl,
We use 0.0005"/ft. as tolerance for straightness.
As long as the bearing fits are within tolerance, shafts may be straightened and reused.
Hope this helps!
wickedpete,
You didn't say how large the required pump(s) were but I have a possible option for you for ASD requirement.
Have used these magnetic motor couplings for a variety of pump and blower services. They are cheaper than VFD's and take up no space.
You can check out their web site for...
ProjectEng,
Greetings. Sounds like a good candidate for a VFD. Some quick calculations and a little programming should alow you to step up the speed of the pump to prevent any spiking in the RO. Once the unit is up to pressure/speed, control could be fully assumed by the valve.
Hope this helps.
scorcher,
Here are some other options for you.

pharmaguy,
Might have a solution for you. Goulds has a new base out that can be flex mounted. They will sell a base for your pump size. Check this site, http://www.gouldspumps.com/download_files/literature_misc/BRCHEMBASE.pdf
You can contact the webmaster for rep in your area.
Hope this helps!
