How do I calculate voltage drop in a 400Hz system?

Alternatively you can utilize software for power flow like ETAP. Change the project frequency to 400 Hz and when you select 50/60Hz cables from the library, ETAP automatically calculates the new impedance based on 400 Hz. I have seen this application used for shipboard power systems.

    DC Drive Harmonics - simulation

Hi Tony, I have done some harmonic simulation in ETAP using VFD's and tested the programs capability of modeling upto 36 pulse VFD using 6 pulse drives. It is fairly simple. I can email you a screen capture of what the circuit would look like for 12,18,24,30 and 36 pulse drives along with the...

    Generator Negative Sequence Protection

Does any one know how to calculate generator I2^2 t curve for coordination purposes? I know that K varies between 2 - 40 and I2 is percent of stator FLA. What percent of FLA is used to draw the curve? Hope the question makes sense. Thanks in advance

    Relay Secondary Injection Unit

I read HiSets comments and the ETAP ARTTS works with a laptop computer and can test almost 24 different IEEE types of relays. Quite lightweight too, weighs in about 18 kgs.

    Relay Secondary Injection Unit

Hi Deansharafi Omicron and Doble are very expensive. You might want to look at ETAP ARTTS which is a secondary injection test set I have used and works real well because it allows upto 9 CT inputs and interfaces with the ETAP coordination program. The best thing is service is available in the...

    Analyzing Power Plant Operating Data

You can refer to www.etap.com/psms for analyzing electrical operating data. I am not sure if vibration data is handled by them also?

    GROUNDING CALCULATION

You might want to use standard softwares like ETAP that comply with IEEE 80-2000 to save you a lot of iteration time. Knowledge of 3Io LG fault current and X/R ratio is required.

    X/R transformer calculations

What is the nameplate kVA of the transformer? ETAP actually has typical %Z and X/R values for any nameplate transformer. I can get you the values from there.

    Moving Train Analysis

Hi jbartos, Thanks for the links. I will have to scan through the softwares mentioned. Essentially what I am looking for is a way to model the electrical network for a transit system and then simulate acceleration / deacceleration of trains based upon their schedule. Thanks

    Capacitor Bank Protection

Sett. I am doing the same thing at this point. IEEE C37.99-1990 "IEEE Guide for the Protection of shunt Capacitor Banks" has some good information but nothign related to the rupture characteristics. Search continues. Thanks.

    Capacitor Bank Protection

Capacitor banks utilize group fusing. The fuse should have a time-current clearing charactersitic that lies below the time current case rupture probability characteristic of the capcitor units. THere are 4 zones defined by 3 such curves - Safe Zone, Zone 1, Zone 2 and Hazardous Zone. Finally...
