You could try finding the view in the tree, right click on it, selecting 'lock view focus' and adding the notes afterward. That's what I do. Also, if you name your views (in the tree), you will have a much easier time selecting them. Hope that helps

As a follow up to my question, I am exporting object lines, hidden lines and tangent lines in separate layers, so I can eliminate these layers as needed.
