    pocket guide for 1101, 22768 and 13920

I’ve found useful for me The Geometrical Tolerancing Desk Reference: Creating and Interpreting ISO Standard Technical Drawings by Paul Green

    ISO envelope applications

I think in the same way. CH, Could you reference at technical literature from where you extracted a sample with former practice of ISO 286. I did not find such clarification and always was confused with co-existed 286-1 and 8015 when I came in ISO world with GOST background

    ISO Symmetrical Question

I would like to write glad to help you Season but CH re-posted everything ahead [smile] Just confirm the translation is correct. One comment regarding to general surface roughness, I guess you can see this symbol in upper right corner on the drawing. The meaning is the same as general surface...

    ISO Symmetrical Question

The introduction in GOST 2.308-79 for the symmetry is the same as in ISO 1101 - "The tolerance zone is limited by two parallel planes a distance “T” apart, symmetrically disposed about the median plane, with respect to the datum." “T/2” is radial value. It is true for Symmetry, Tolerances of...

    ISO Symmetrical Question

BTW SeasonLee's attachment displays the representation by GOST. CheckerHater;s interpretation with T/2 is absolutely correct. Balloon n4 means particular marking method with reference in general note 4...

Total Runout putting limits on dimensional tolerance

Will it make sense if the datums change a place in the frame to put [B] as primary and [A] as secondary? I've seen the similar sample Fig9-7 in ASME Y14.5-2009

Specifying a datum on a cored hole

My interpretation of the definition of the tolerance zone what specified in the frame yes,the perpendicularity of the hole's axis applies though the hole tapered.

Specifying a datum on a cored hole

Quite difficult to make correct assumption seeing only one section view but the positional tolerance include perpendicularity as well.

Partial Penetration and Full Penetration Joints on Lift Padeyes

And how to interpret 4.3.1 Welding of padeyes All main welds between pad eyes and the primary frame structure shall always be full penetration welds.

    Russian GOST vs. PED

I am sure your product must get the certificate according to technical regulation on Russian territory. You can find more http://www.tehnoprogress.com/sert_teh_reglament_mash.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_approval

    pin & hole slip tolerance

totally agree with cjccmc My suggestion was as input idea of precision threshold. With lapping pin or hole you can slightly lose precision but achieve result.

    pin & hole slip tolerance

I would start from open catalog of Mold components to find something similar. At least fit H7/g6 with Ra0.4 is reasonable choice with your particular application.

Controlled radius Simliar or to on a diameter.

I would consider also that there is relationship between precision of fit grade and surface roughness

control of cylindrical features with intersecting axes

Because relationship for chanels are separate to each hole D30 with axes intersecting. I assumed this representation give unambiguous interpretation. Dimensioning is not completed for this sample. One of the goal to find a solution with simplicity but sufficient requirements for secure design.

    Inconel inlay per API 17D

Could you give some tips in case with manufacturing new part. After final machining cladded faces with NDT you are identifying places with porosity with thin layer in compare whole thikness of inlay. Obviously material have to be extract up to solid inconel. Question is: have to be cut out...

control of cylindrical features with intersecting axes

I would appreciate advice with similar case but more complicated cylindrical features with intersecting axes. Will annotation be equal to position tolerance from point of GD&T according to both ASME and ISO? Is it correct applied where design intent is mutual axes intersect within tolerance to...

    cross drilled hole in tube

    Metric thread callout iso-h

juergenwt, I am working in ISO environment. I tried to assist with your confusion only.

    Metric thread callout iso-h

Look at standard http://www.cmpubolt.com/docs/B1.13M-2005.pdf in my interpretation m2 x .4 is M2x0.4 preferable choice metric thread (where 0.4 is thread pitch) Letter h can specify tolerance grade for external thread but it follow with digit always.

    Metric thread callout iso-h

If callout was specified as topic starter show m2 x .4 iso-h then it is incorrect anyway for metric threads according to ISO
