SW Properties disappearing when saving dwg as PDF

Has anyone had issue with erratic (not all the time) occurrences when saving (maybe printing too, but for sure saving) a dwg as PDF where properties such as description are still existent in the dwg but they have been "emptied" and their value is blank? This then leads to the PDF not having...

Disassociate Model Item dimensions after inserting them in dwg

Wondering if there is a clean way to: a) Disassociate drawing dims from the model after inserting them "automatically" via INSERT MODEL ITEMS OR b) Insert dimensions a different way, without doing manually, so that they are not associate to the model Basically trying to QUICKLY (obviously I...

Reference text in the parameter cell of design table

I thought there was a way to show reference text in the parameter cell for a design table. i.e. "D1@Sketch2 Moment arm" where "Moment arm" is the reference text. Am I just remembering wrong or is there a way? I realize you can change the name of the parameter, but adding in Excel, at least for...

Scale problem plotting with a custom size in SW

Thanks Scott, I definitely get (and have been through) the logic and also lean that way. Just wondered if anyone had come across the situation and had solution that was not plotter related. I am generally not so quick to acquit SW, but I agree this seems to be in that direction. Thanks again.

Scale problem plotting with a custom size in SW

I have a part that is about 49 in lg. When plotting it 1:1, using a custom sheet size (i.e. ?" x 55"), it scales bigger, by about 6% (i.e. 49" comes out at about 52"). When use a "std" size, like "E", the scale is good. It is just that now I have to print more than one because "E" is not long...

Backing out of Print Preview in SW

Yep, that is it, thanks. SW trying to redefine "intuitive interface" I see. They really have to work on that. Thank you again.

Backing out of Print Preview in SW

Hi all, Does anyone know if there is a way to "back out" of print preview in SW, back to the print dialog? Seems to me that the only way is to select "Close" or ESC but both completely close out the print dialog and you have to reopen. Now, I use CTRL+P, so not a terribly big deal, but...

Alternate Section View with Same Label

Anyone know if there is a 'clean' way to have an alternate "Section A-A" for example. Maybe that is not correct to have an alternate view, but I want to. And by clean I mean I can 'fool' it by making another section and call it A-A and essentially blanking out the letter in the parent view, but...

    Weird display anomalies

Thanks CBL, we (SW users @ company) have been on that track, but having difficult time convincing the necessary people and as I mentioned haven't been having too much trouble due to our lack of model/dwg complexity. But what you mention makes sense about the evolving increased demand on video...

    Weird display anomalies

Not that experienced with drivers, but our IT person sent the "latest" driver (which I concurred with as being latest per my research, which as it turns our seemed to be separated from our current by quite a few other "updates") for the card but there were even more weird things going on after...

    Weird display anomalies

I have an NVIDIA Quadro NVS 290. It's terrible for SW as I understand, but we dont have terrible demand for video either and has worked well until now ... but this is all since SW2009.

    Weird display anomalies

Anyone get weird video anomalies of inactive windows, usually the most recently active, popping up partially in SW and then going away with a click of the mouse? When I go to use SW OpenGL, goes away, which I have been told means it is the video card which I know is insufficient already, but has...

    SW09 Tolerance Issues in Dwgs

Thanks, mostly venting there ... I see there is at least SP2.1 out there and I just need to get at it. Not quite seeing the connection with my prob and the link above though. I'm not dealing with the dwg editor unless there is some connection between it and SW dwg interface ... could be, I know...

    SW09 Tolerance Issues in Dwgs

Anyone having or know of an issue with tolerances in '09? We have been having these seemingly random occurrences of tolerances changing in what appears to be as a conversion from 0.1mm to inches based on the initial value as inches but treating it as mm to be converted. AND it shows the negative...

    Loft problems

I need the curved profile on the ends, my image doesnt show it, but it's there. And when I added the guide curves for that, it also appeared to bow the sides, so I added guide curves for the sides to keep them straight. The bow radius is quite large, and I assume there is some effect that...

    Loft problems

Thanks again Rob. I attached a jpg including image of all sides and iso. As you can see, the ends are slightly arc'd, the sides are straight @ angle and the length is arc'd so there really arent any planes (per your question). It is a solid loft. The image also shows the 2 profile sketches...

    Loft problems

This is what I get when I "check" merge, notice that the profile is getting pulled away from the sharp corner that it is. This just started happening. I have played with the "Guide Curve Influence" setting but the "To Next Guide Curve" is what is used in these images and seem to produce best...

    Loft problems

Thanks Rob, I was actually sending my clarification post as you responded. So basically I misstated my main problem but thought maybe the one I show might be easier to fix. As it turns out it is, but with the undesired result of putting me back in the situation of having the tiny radius in 1 of...

    Loft problems

Some important info, they appear when I uncheck "Merge Tangent Faces". I know, I know, uncheck it then. But the reason I unchecked itwas that the first "all of a sudden" was that one of the 4 corners was getting a small radius in it which was cause problems with my filleting.
