You want to get your specimens from within the 1/4 T envelope. I.E. the specimen should lie within 1/4 of the thickness from the midpoint or centre axis of the thickest cross section. Since it's a casting, orientation won't matter.
I know Sealweld has a lubricant they rate for 2000 F. We use a Desco product rated at 750 F for steam valves. Another manufacturer you might try is CS Clare (sp?).

My advice is if you want a life other than work avoid a field where your customer runs 24/7, i.e. service or oilfield equipmet manufacture or, worst of all, oilfield service.
Your test equipment isn't covered by API. If the volume is small enough it isn't covered by ASME either so all you're subjected to is best practise. Do some calcs to see if the configuration can be rated to 7500 with a reasonable safety factor. Of course your biggest problem might be preventing...
Quick question, is the 2" NPT/LP part of the equipment being tested or part of the test equipment? If the working pressure of the 2 NPT is under 5000 you can test to 10000 but if it's part of your testing equipment your working pressure is 7500 and you're above the recommended working pressure.
