you need to work with a product , while your photo/picture is ready than simply insert a part on that same assembly, activate that part. and go to sketcher mode.. and sketch as per the profile,,,,, thats all enjoy..

there is some extra setting needed for this w/b .. first of all you needed to set-up your visualization mode in material mode and set a view e.g. front,side,back.... after doing all the settings if the sketch is not still coming than there might be some license problem..

click the home setting at option and select <restore parameters value to default one > found at the extreme lower right corner after this on customize option on <tool bar> tab select restore all , restore position. restart catia think it may help you... if you tried this than sorry..
