That is only a shorthand way of sending a dumb solid. To my knowledge there aren't any parametric file translators, at least nothing I could afford!
I want them to have a parametric file so they can easily modify the geometry.
I am trying to license an invention to a company in Taiwan and they are using Creo 3.0. I have developed a clean parametric involute gear model in SolidWorks and want to get a Creo 3.0 version to send them to use.
I have cross-posted this in the Creo forum, but I know there are a lot of users...

Does someone have a parametric gear file they are willing to share? Input the number of...
It would help to see the FeatureManager for this file.
What about selecting the top of the file in the FM and toggling the Transparent setting?
How about doing a Save As to a new (and temporary) assembly name and seeing how that turns out?
I also upgraded my machines from Win7 to 10 and am currently on SWX2016 with no performance problems. I highly recommend you install the most recent approved graphics drivers. On my home computer when I made this same OS upgrade I had a terrible problem even though everything appeared fine...
Instead of using different configurations for the casting and machined parts you should look into Insert Part. This would take the casting (it is a separate part anyway) and leave it as a separate part file, but the machined version would reference it as if it were a dumb solid. This is more...
CBL,
A star for you! That is a great tip and one I can use. Even after using SWX since it came out there are still many things to learn. Thanks!

If your assembly has some parts loaded lightweight and some loaded resolved and you want them all resolved then you can do that easily without having to check the lightweight/resolved status of each part. Just RMB on the top assembly icon and select "Set Lightweight to Resolved", similar to...
Here are the part and assembly files.http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=b68615dd-a96f-457d-82d8-c7e5d78a1522&file=Spring-Dynamic_Motion.SLDASM
I saw this concept done at SWW2013 in Orlando. Here is my own version of a spring that moves with its parts in an assembly. An actual helical spring cannot be animated due to the lengthy calculations required, however, if you want something that looks like a spring would look this is about as...
Since you are new to SolidWorks this is an understandable question. In addition to the answers above I HIGHLY recommend you invest a little bit of time in going through the SWX tutorials (Help -> SOLIDWORKS Tutorials). You will be so glad you did.

tbush,
Do yourself a huge favor and actually do go through the built-in SWX tutorials (Help -> SolidWorks Tutorials). You probably don't need them to know how to model, but you evidently DO need them in order to learn how to easily do things in SWX.
This software is VERY capable. There is...
Chris,
I don't have an answer to your direct question about the property tab builder, but could you just have multiple drawing templates, some with CE, some without, etc.?
