David, Mathcad simply (?) treats the currency values as being independent of the other units (e.g. see Buckingham's Pi Theorem on Wikipedia), so that you can't express pay (in dollars / hour) in another unit scale (say furlongs / fortnight).
If you do it will re-insert a correcting term of...
You can simply assign (:=) the result.
That is you get:
Eqn1:=Solve_my_expression -> Long_results
where the 'Solve_my_expression ->' is the bit you already have. It will still give the same message, but Eqn1 will be the undisplayable formula.
You can even use
My_function(t):=Eqn1-> (long...
There is at present, as far as I know, no method of stopping the explicit expansion at any particular level or for any particular variable. It would be nice if they had a modifier LEVEL1 (rather than ALL) that would olny substitute values for the current equation.
Mathcad can manange some symbolic solutions of non-linear equations, but it is still only a computer programme so can't work miracles. But it can try a lot of methods and approaches so will have a go. It does help if you have a good idea of the sort of answer you would expect. It is easy to make...
There is a 'funny' in that some graphs need the border switched on/off. There's more on the mathcad collaboratory (which is now back after a server overload)
Perhaps look at the more mundane "The Design of Everyday Things", Donald Norman and similar ideas.
Would a Toaster be allowed if it were a new design (you do remember when you used a knife to extricate the burnt bread when it was still on ;-) - safe as houses, wouldn't be without it.

There was an option to change from lines to draw in old versions when using arrays of data.
The recent versions dropped 'draw' but won't plot lines going off the plot area, so set the limits just before the end points. It also depends on whether you are plotting a matrix or 3 function...

I've gotten help at the Collab, but never without a few "have you always been this dumb?" kind of comments (many were deserved, the "programming" syntax is pretty foreign to me). Don't have time for the abuse today.

There is always one who gives that...
The mathcad schemas are in the directory /schema ....
yes you can open the XMCD files ...
a) by renaming as .xml and then your browers will display it as 'raw' xml.
b) If you have the store images ON (in bloat mode ;-) then there is an image for every region.
There was a recent (this year)...
Background: The 'collaboratory' is the "User Forums" located under the Help menu in MathCAD. This connects to the web site originally set up by mathsoft, and now maintained by PTC.
The user forum's web address can be seen in MathCAD by switching on the Address toolbar, or clicking on the 'world'...
There are a number of threads on the collab that cover the installation of the unimath font.
[Occassionally it appears to be 'lost' by windows, or some other process that isn't fully understood, so quite a few posts!]
The font can also be embedded in pdf files, given the right settings and...
There is also a collab thread about pushing a value into a particular excel sheet cell. This can be used to drive external sheets that you are not allowed to modify.
I think Tom gutman wrote/documented it. It used a short VBscript function.

"I am switching to Maple 13 but need MathCad to be reliable during the transition."
What are the relative costs? Are you getting a 'special offer' version of Maple? or just on a 30 day trail at the moment.
It would be interesting to hear of the comparison.

There are a number of discussions on ways of (almost) achieving this on the mathcad collaboratory. But nothing as direct as you get with excel's conditional formating...
Make sure you customise your toolbar [to remove the print preview icon].
This will reduce the chance of accidental loss, where for that moment you forget and click the icon...
