    Thank ione, this chart shows that JP-8 & JP-10 is ok with PTFE. This is perfect. Now I need to find which metals are OK with JP-8/JP-10. Stainless is OK for sure but my main concern is Bronze.

    Yes that's what we will most likely be doing... Keeping it simple with a relief valve that sends the over pressure back to the fuel tank. That way there won't be any risk of missing fuel to the engine. I will keep note of this thread as there are some very interesting points that were brought up...

    But if you just slightly crack open a needle valve, wouldn't it work just the same? Are there any standard parts that could be used? It is 1/4" NPT gauges that will be installed. The liquid is jet fuel.

    Hello, I read the FM Global Code 7-32, and there is a rule regarding pressure gauges to reduce leakage to a minimum: "Use restricted orifices in piping connecting the gauges to the equipment." Would this juste be a needle valve? Or is it referring to some other device? Thanks Gabriel

    I do agree with ione, and from experience, you can't go wrong with Viton. The only situation that I had a problem with Viton was when I had low temperatures. Other than that, it's compatible with almost everything!!

    Hi, I would like to know if Reinforced PTFE is compatible with JP-8 and JP-10 jet fuel as well as Diesel Fuel? I am trying to find a fire safe ball valve in a 1" pipe size and the seats only seem to be in R-PTFE which does not seem to be compatible with JP-8. Any suggestions? Thanks Gabriel

    EDIT : The parker catalogue would NOT cancel out the units because T2-T1 in Kelvin will not equal the same value in degF. For example a delta temp of 8.33K would be 15 degF delta Temp.

    I just found in the Parker catalogue # HY10-1630/US a method for calculating the accumulator volume required for thermal expansion. All that ends up happening is that the accumulator is oversized slightly such that the pressure doesn't increase past the max allowable. It all makes sense now!
