    perspective projection in studio mode

I would like to stop NX from automatically change to perspective projection when I change from SHADED WITH EDGES to STUDIO rendering style. I can't find it in the forum or customer defaults Any ideas ? Older budweiser NX1926, hp z820

    Sketch details in part navigator

I am wondering where the details are... When I click on any feature in the part navigator, like "extrude", "hole", the details tab shows the parameters(start limit, end limit, diameter). But, if I click on a sketch, nothing is shown in the details tab. This used to be the case in earlier...

upgrading from 2 old dino monitors

I have two HP 30 " monitors for use with NX (1953 at the moment). I would like to upgrade since the oldest one is from 2007 and, even if both are HP, I can't get the dispay settings the same (contrast, colortemp, the like). Now I have the option of replacing both monitors at the same time with...

    Crosshatch options grayed out

Turning off Assembly Cross Hatching when creating an assembly drawing seems not logical. Also, turning off this option did not solve the problem. But your suggestion put me on the right track. The trick is unchecking "Process Hidden Crosshatch". Attached file from NX 1926. Older budweiser NX8.5...

    Crosshatch options grayed out

It seems to be file specific, not sure why. In some parts the crosshatch options are grayed out, in other parts they are not. Older budweiser NX8.5 & NX9.0 64bit, hp z820

    Crosshatch options grayed out

Hi all, I have a question about my crosshatch settings, see attached image. The "Crosshatch definition" and "Pattern" options are grayed out. I cant't find a setting in the customer defaults or preferences to correct this. I changed the file permissions for xhatch.chx in the UGII folder to...

    SHOCK FORK design model

This looks rather morphed. Is it a scanned model ? To me it seems one would use freeform modelling combined with sheet metal. I'll give it a try. Older budweiser NX8.5 & NX9.0 64bit, hp z820

    How to model this ??

PrintScaffold, that's not a roll formed cylinder. Roll forming is creating a cylinder by roll forming a flat sheet. That feature is not available in NX, http://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=318888. Older budweiser NX8.5 & NX9.0 64bit, hp z820

    How to model this ??

Bwsh uses a method I like, although the cylinder option is my favorite. As John hinted before, how can this be done in sheet metal ? I know it is not possible to roll form a cylinder from sheet (not in NX9 that is). Older budweiser NX8.5 & NX9.0 64bit, hp z820

Having Problems Creating Rib! Please Help.

I am not sure if the move edge command is available in NX7.5, but in NX9 it does the job. I am the kind of guy that always likes to minimize the number of features, so this one is my kind of thing. No curves or projections, just sketches and features. Older budweiser NX8.5 & NX9.0 64bit, hp...

Opening drawing files of part files in assembly, master model approach

I have an assembly, containing about 40 parts. Each part has it's own drawing file attached via the master-model aproach. Is there a way to open all the drawing parts at once (just like all the parts are opened ) when opening the assembly ? So opening assembly results in opening part1, part2 and...

    TO BE MASTER IN NX.

Capslock? I totally agree with daluigi. NX is a tool. You must master NX to be able to fully profit from it's potential, but in the end it is a tool. Your ability to transform an idea to a design is the most important key to succes. NX is helpful, but you have to sharpen your focus...

Unable to Re Install license on same machine after hard disk failure.

Usually any change in hardware requires a new Composite host ID if you are running a standalone license. In our case, a "server replacement form" is all that's needed. But you already solved the problem Older budweiser NX8.5 & NX9.0 64bit, hp z820

    Save assembly to single file?

I don't use Teamcenter. To me it seems that creating a dumb copy isn't a bad idea after all, considering disk space. Or am I missing some clever NX tool? Older budweiser NX8.5 & NX9.0 64bit, hp z820

    Save assembly to single file?

Maybe closing in to a disaster, but...: Would saving your assembly into a single part file (containing only dumb solids and sheets) be an easy way to save the current "state" of the assembly ? It's like making a screenshot to show how the design evolved over time or how many alternative...
