    Deformable spring

Hi Cubalibre00, the thing is that when you deform a component the features were recreated in the assembly. So one problem is that when you create features of a deformable component based on the WCS, they will be recreated on the assemblies WCS. Also sketches are a problem. If the sketch...

    Deformable spring

@cubalibre00 the problem is that teh helix of your spring is controled by another curve. If you change the reference to entire part you see what happens. The helix moves in relation to the CSYS. If you create the helix with three formulas for X, Y and Z it won't happen. See my attached example...

    Deformable spring

Hi, the problem is that you've used a sketch based creation. In the attached example I've created a spring based on law curves, without any sketch. Hope this helps Meinolf http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=f381d87c-e666-43b8-ae4a-a390210ce501&file=Druckfeder_0.00.prt

    Pneumatic drawings

Hi, in my previous job I've used the drawing grid while creating hydraulic schematic with custom made hydraulic symbols. For example the single symbol has a frame size auf 10x10mm. The drawing grid is set up with 20mm distance of the major lines, 2 minor lines and 20 snap points per minor line...

Creating simplified & detailed versions of a part

Hi Rob, a good solution is using reference sets. The standard refence set "model" will use symbolic threads, another reference will use a detailed thread, a third one a simpliefed one. If you open the attached sample you need to switch on the layers 2 and 3 to see all of the part geometrie. If...

    NX Drafting and foreign languages

Hi Jon, it's a product from Siemens / UGS in germany. As I wrote you can get it for free, but you need a maintance contract (for a small charge). Maybe you check also a product from BCT: http://www.bct-technology.com/index.php?id=10204&L=2# They offer an application called BCT-translator...

    NX Drafting and foreign languages

Hi, in Germany there is a set of tools available called "NX tools". We use it to fullfill the title blocks in German and English, with one layer for each one. The tool looks for the german word and automatically places the english translation on a different layer. You need to create one...

hi can any one do it

Hi, here is an example NX4 example. With the parameter "dm" you can control the miter dia, with "n" the number of waves and with "h" the height of the waves. HTH regards Meinolfhttp://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=e4ae26d8-13ce-4edb-89e6-6c1a4e8d3042&file=gewellte_Scheibe.prt

It is not a pipe thread, it's a standard metric fine thread. major dia: 10mm pitch: 1mm minor dia bolt: 8.773mm minor dia female: 8.917mm drill dia 9mm, depend on the material M10x1 -6g: the 6g gives the thread tolerance You need to add the values to your "thd_metric.dat", then it should work...

    Laser etch programming

Hi, we use NX 5 and HPGL plot files for laser marking, to. What could be a problem the interpreting of the line thickness when importing the HPGL files into the laser software, we need to use only one line thickness in the NX files because of the import problems. regards Meinolf
