Sizing the H generator

Look for SAE Paper 2000-01-1061: Adams J. et al, The development of Ford's P2000 fc vehicle. 2000.

    Coil Design CAD sofrware

Guys, Have you ever heard anything about a coil design software which is called CoilCAD or CoilixCAD? I tried to google it, but the only one is Tesla Coil CAD v.1&2 which popups first and is not an option. Thanks S.

    Low Permeable Materials

Thanks for reply. Permeability is in the range 10<MrU<20 @ 60 Hz.

    Low Permeable Materials

Hi, I am looking for a low permeable materials (MuR<20) & a supplier of thin rods made from such a material. The story is that it's supposed to work in a cryogenic environment, so ferrites seem not to be the best choice (not sure about, rather suspisious). Please, advise if somebody knows where...

    Bushings soldering

Hi. Porcelain is fine for insulation. For a capacitor bank, depending on power and RC of your circuit (resulting in Joules per discharge cycle) and on the environment (cryogenic or room T) one can expect 400-900K rise for 16kA/100mm^2 SN60PB40 solder (melt - 180 C).I am not sure about linearity...

Cryogenics: Two phase process modeling by FEA

Hi, I need an advise from somebody with experience in Cryo FEA, preferably worked in ANSYS enviroment: how to model two phase (liquid-gas) process and bubble formaton near the conductive surfaces. Is there in the web a reference to go through? Thanks

    Simulating Pulse in Ansys

Sorry for late answers, I was relocting, switching jobs and blah-blah-blah... This issue is about temperature profile as a function of time. I can harder understand it in terms of ON and OFF. For instance, OFF means that a heater has no power input? In this case you would better take into an...

    Rubber tubes with varying ID

Hello, I'm looking for a company which manufacures rubber/silicon tubes with varying inner diameter along a tube, while outter diameter remains the same. Does anybody can recommend one? Thx, S. PS. I tried Google before I posted it here (.

Problem in ploting result using Ansys 6.1

You would better select rather than unselect specific entities. S.

Problem with convergence in heat transfer problem

Thermal analysis are almost always non-linear. IMHO, double sizing just eliminates non-linear effects, especially if you are dealing with radiation problems.

    Simulating Pulse in Ansys

Hi Tucson, Probably, the best way to learn how to simulate transient thermal analysis is to read Transient Thermal Analysis chapter in Thermal Analysis Guide. Use *DIM command to specify TABLE and then fill it manually or through *TREAD command. All these steps can be done via Utility...

Applying BC on conductors in electostatics.

Follow up: Question 2 implies the initial approximation of the potential on the surface. thanks again.S.

Applying BC on conductors in electostatics.

Hello, I'm trying to apply BC for a model which is a metal sphere, surrounded by a medium (plastic-based) with certain permittivity. There is a system of electrodes, placed far from the sphere, generating specific electric field. Obvious BC on the surface of the sphere is that the tangential...

    Thermal/Radiation problem.

Hello, I'm trying to simulate a problem, employing both convection and radiation as BCs at the outside walls of a box. I've applied radiation as RDSF (radiosity solver) and covection as CONV at the outter boundaries at the fixed ambient temperature (room one, 24 C), according to the examples...

    Static Magnetic field problem

If your analysis is for the infinite surrounding media, try infinite boundary elements as SURF9 or QUAD110 for example and...O men, I executed your file and after 25 error messages my ANSYS collapsed)). I'd better check all verif. manuals (VM for index search in HELP).

Start up Ansys 6.0 seems to hang

It depends only on your computer. Probably, you need to upgrade it or to buy an extra RAM. You can also increase the memory buffer to 128 & 64 MB respectively in INERACTIVE startup, close any other applications ect. Check "memory management" chapters.

    Results listing - Emag3D

How I can get the COMPLETE SET of the nodal results (both zero and non-zero) in POSTPROC in Emag3D? The problem is that I used PRNSOL, PRESOL, PRNSL, PRVECT and many other ways to get the results in approx. 120.000 nodes in 3D problem. I've never got more than 18.000 nodes with results in...
