    COLCHESTER FEED SHEAR PIN

I think the shear pin is located down just below the chuck where the shaft enters the housing of the machine. If the feed shaft is still visibly turning then there is a sleeve under the saddle has worn out and needs replaced £££.

MAKING TUBING USING A "U" & "O" PRESS FORMING PROCESS US

I have seen this done on a 100ton press with 16SWG Stainless perforated sheet which was used to build into a car exhaust (muffler) system .The tool had a floating mandrel and a flat sheet was put into the tool under the mandrel and one stroke hammered down to make the tube round and the seam was...

Slug removal from drilling operation in sheetmetal

This might sound a bit crazy but we solved a similar problem by drilling from the bottom up allowing swarf to fall away.It meant modifing a cheap pedistal drill with a bit of fabrication and a welder but it worked.

    Position recognition .

To make a long story short I have worked as second in command in a 6 man machine shop for 6 years. In that time the owner died and I looked after the place for approx 3 months until his son in law (not an engineer) took over and eventually bought the place with his wife. Two years into his...

MATH FORMULA FOR CALCULATING I AND K VALUES ON CNC LATHE

I do not know what your example is but I&K are simply the centre of the arc you wish to turn as an incremental position from the start point of the arc (the relationship depends on the machine you use). They can be as simple as the radius or you may need to work them out by trig.

    Production Control/Shopfloor control Software

I work in N.Ireland at sub contract engineering of parts. There are 7 of us in the company and we are looking to computerise our production but all the software out there (in the UK) costs about 7K and £100/month thereafter .Would anyone know of a package to buy straight out with no monthly charges??
