    Yet another external references question....

I have tried searching for this and could find similar external references problem but not this one... I have an assembly (Ass A) which has a skeleton part within it (Skeleton A). There are a bunch of other parts (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4.....). All the parts are defined within the...

Splitting a suface into seperate bodies?

Thanks, I will try that. When I import the model in my FEA package it is easier to assign thicknesses if they are seperate bodies rateher than speerate faces :)

Splitting a suface into seperate bodies?

I am new to surface modelling so any help on this would be great... I want to draw a sketch on a surface then split that surface using the sketch into separate surface bodies. I would like to be able to do this in one feature? I have tried using the split line feature which looks like it gives...

Distribution of force around sufrace of a drum.

Hi guys, this is pretty simple but is not my field. I have a drum with a taught rope over it. The rope has tension, T and a wrap angle of theta degrees. It is a static problem. What is the distribution of force on the surface of the drum over the wrap angle theta, as a function of theta? The...

Joining two sheetmetal bodies using a mitre flange?

Thanks for the help. Its rework of a design and I didnt want to re make relations etc.

Joining two sheetmetal bodies using a mitre flange?

I have two sheetmetat bodies and I would like to join them using a mitre flange. I have defined the mitere flange using a sketch. At the moment I can only get the mitre flange to attach to one of the bodies. Thanks in advance, Chris.

    Flat Pattern with configurations

Please look at thsi file upload : ) Not the one in my previous posthttp://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=8a11bae0-00d2-4019-9e80-833cf8e995ca&file=FRAME.SLDPRT

    Flat Pattern with configurations

This may have been answered before but searching flat pattern and configuration yields no relevant results. I have a part file which is a frame, the frame is split into two bodies and there are 20 different sizes (A,B,C, D etc.) I want a drawing which has 20 different flat patterns...

    Sheet metal bug? SW2011 SP0

Ok, I have found the solution and feel like a bit of a jerk. I had to heve the 'normal cut' button checked in the cut extrude. OOps :)

    Sheet metal bug? SW2011 SP0

Here is screenshots of whats happening and the workaround. I cant use the workaround though as all my profiles are already drawn and I don't have the time to redraw them.http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=2681d014-d3e9-4c2d-b275-fa4f29d41285&file=Two_different_methods.png

    Sheet metal bug? SW2011 SP0

I have had a bug with the sheet metal feature of SW2011, SP0. I usually create sheet metal parts for door frames then do a 45° cut in the corners to create a mitre. When solidowkrs notices the 45° cut intersecting a faces normal to the sketch plane it jogs the cut, however for some reason it...

Curve driven pattern around the perimeter

No, just one city in NZ, Christchurch. Its ok though as nobody was killed. Some old buildings are broken.

Curve driven pattern around the perimeter

Thanks CorBlimeyLimey! Your solution worked well!

Curve driven pattern around the perimeter

I would like to pattern the hole around the sketch line (highlighted blue). The sketch like is an offset of the outside edge. The curve driven pattern is not letting me do this I think as it says the curve must be composed of a single contour. It is important to select the curve as a whole and...

Autocad to SW Sketching, Autodimension and Auto Relations

I tryed CorBlimeyLimeys method of using the Fully Define Sketch feature. It worked well and will help alot! Thanks for the help.

Autocad to SW Sketching, Autodimension and Auto Relations

In my company I am often asked to take Autocad drawing of the cross section of extrusion profiles and convert them into library features for Solidowkrs weldments. The process I use is to Copy/Paste the drawing into a sketch then go through each of the lines and click relationships such as...

    SW 2010, Auto Relief Bug?

Thanks for checking, if anybody else knows how to dolve this it would be greatly appreciated.

    SW 2010, Auto Relief Bug?

I don't know if this is a problem with SW 2010 SP 4 or if it's just me? When I create a sheet metal part using the "Convert to Sheet Metal" tool I always get auto reliefs and even when I unchecked the button for auto reliefs they come back? Can someone with SP4 verify this, it's driving me insane!
