Rumor of SW kernel expiring in 2012

Our VAR said that SW currently uses the UG platform(engine). Since Dassault Systemes owns both Catia and SW, they have discussed changing the platform(engine) for SW from UG to Catia. Catia and SW will still be seperate programs, they will just be based off of/running off of the same...

    Part Number generation with EPDM

I am both. Two people here have had the training and are suppose to show the other two of us but, they haven't shown us yet. Enterprise PDM

Files - They want to put packing slips, vendor correspondences, etc. into the vault, not sure is all this needs to be in the vault? Folders- I was always told that the more complex you made your folder structure the more it slowed down the performance of the vault...?

    Enterprise PDM

We are in process of implementing EPDM, I have a few questions... 1. Put all files in the vault, even if they don't require revision control, so all job files are all in one place? Is this a good idea, or just vault what needs to be revision controled? 2. Folder structure; our current...

SW Enterprise PDM - purchased parts

Would you revision control your purchased parts by putting them into a vault folder? Or would you not and just put them into a folder designated as a "library"? Also, if you put your purchased parts into the vault, do you loose the drag/drop feature of "library" parts?

Getting mutiple files with the same name into PDM Workgroup vault

good news! we are moving forward with option #2 (2) Leave the existing files in the existing windows environment and treat them as an archival of old projects. As needed, pull a file for revision or "save as", clean up any issues to the new standards, then check the new projects into the...

Getting mutiple files with the same name into PDM Workgroup vault

Thanks for all the help!!! This is what I have come up with and have sent to management, wait and see I guess... These are my concerns if we move forward with the proposed method of making the files "virtual" in order to check them into PDM Workgroup. The obvious fact of why not to make a...

Getting mutiple files with the same name into PDM Workgroup vault

I've tried to tell them that. Garbage in garbage out, right? It's a matter of, the people making the decisions don't use the programs. I need concrete reasons to convince them to not do this... they are not listening to "it's not how the program is intended to work". I was hoping someone could...
