I`m looking for a connection detail that can be used for connecting a roof access ladder to 2x6 stud wall with brick veneer.
I would like to use L3x3x3/8 angle brackets spaced at 6ft apart with Ø1/2 through bolts.
My main concern is a wood blocking detail to provide adequate support for the anchorage.
Can you guys suggest a solution that you have used before in similar case?
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Use 6x6 blocking with L50 angle clips top and bottom

How do you plan to fix the waterproofing you will breach by adding holes to the wall?

Ron - That is a good point. The openings in the veneer should be fixed with polyurethane sealant although having angles penetrating the wall might be tough to do.
I might need to go with 3/8" flat bar instead of angles.

Keep in mind that the waterproofing is 1-2" behind the brick on the back side of the cavity. To get sealant back there as you insert fasteners will be difficult. Will need a nozzle to get back there as you insert the fasteners.
