4 Story Building w/ Metal Deck on Wood Frame 14

Has anyone ever designed concrete on metal decks bearing on wood frame construction. The architect seems to think its OK?? Any tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If it's on the talking phase, then it is time to talk the architect on the nonsense of this combination. Concrete or masonry on wood is on the no-fly list of my ventures.

If the Architect want's thin floor and roof lines on top of wood framing, suggest CLT (cross-laminated timber) panels. The first ever US design specs just came out and are free to download at the Wood Council:

They are essentially two-way gluelam "slabs".
