WHAT WILL BE THE PRESSURE GAUGE READING , AT THE BOTTOM OF A 6" PIPE, FILLED WITH WATER, 72 FEET HIGH ?

In order to answer your request, I think you have to furnish either the density of the water or its average temperature. You should also state if there is any vapor pressure over the surface of the water level - i.e., is this a closed or open standpipe?

72 ft fresh water @ 60F => differential pressure of 31 psi.

Here's the math:

P=H*sg/2.31

P= pressure, psi
H= head or height, ft
sg= liquid specific gravity (at temperature)

P=72*(1)/2.31 = 31.1 psi

The estimation by dtn6770 is correct as long a the zero reading of the gage corresponds to the actual prevailing atmospheric pressure.
