I need to import a PDF supplier drawing into NX6 to use as reference. I have tried to convert it to a JPG and a TIFF getting a message that the "file format is to wide, crop and paste".

Any help would be great.

There is no direct way to import a PDF file, as an image or otherwise, into NX. However you manage it, once you have converted it into a valid tiff image it can be brought in NX as Studio Raster Image.

Thanks thats what I thought but I am still stuck at this point I will have to find a work around.

I will suggest you at first to convert pdf file to bmp format (e.g. with adobe acrobat distiler). then it is easier to modify it.

As a final note, if the pdf contains vector graphics rather than raster there are a few programs available that can convert these to a dxf. I can't recommend any as I've never tried them, but they are available.

Best of luck!

If you are using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro you can do the following to overcome the error message. Go to Advanced->Print Production->Crop Pages. Bring the crop lines closer to the actual image outline. Once the image is cropped then, as normal, use File->Save As to save the tif file.

I found that this worked for me when I also was getting the error you outlined.
