Change Start Screen Color 2

Hello all,

I am starting to work with NX9 and The color scheme is driving me crazy. I have changed to the light gray or classic theme and that was a great improvement but I wan to change the color of the stat screen. The bright white color is just way to bright for me. So does anyone know how to change that color? I have attached a screen shot of what background I want to change.

I am on an earlier version of NX than you so I am no sure how to set it in NX9 but if you go to your command finder (the binoculars icon) and enter change background color you should get some results that will help you. I have mine set to a gradient grey instead of the bright white and it really help the situation.
Be sure to utilize that command finder if you have an problems finding anything in NX, it really makes life nicer.

Thank your for the suggesting the command finder. I used it to change the background color when I draw models. My problem is the white screen when you start NX or do not have a model open. Every command to change the background color I have come across works only if a model is present.

Make a backup of {NX install directory}\UGII\images\simple_background.jpg and edit it to your liking.

Thanks cowski. I created a simple light gray jpg and placed it in the images folder and it worked.

Cowski's suggestion gives you the best of both worlds, the tips web page is still displayed with you also having control over the background color or image.

There are some other options:

After 30 NX sessions the option dialog is presented with three options: suppress the tips background web page, continue displaying the tips page, or ask again later. If the "don't display" option is selected the tips will not display and solid gray color will be displayed. The response to that dialog is stored in the registry.

Alternatives to waiting for the dialog to appear and record the opt-out selection include:
UGII_BACKGROUND_URL=http://your_replacement_url (this could be a simple page with a pleasing background)
UGII_BACKGROUND_URL=none (this displays a solid gray "image" (not a web page))
