Hi all,

wondering would that be possible to shift 2 different type of elements in a model.
i.e i use SHELL element S4R in my 1st step, after completed the 1st step analysis, I would like to use DS4 SHELL element (on the same set of elements) to carry on the 2nd step.

the reason that i want to do this because DS4 element does not allow me to apply 'pressure' on my model (i.e. *DLOAD, type P). I wish to apply load on my model, then apply heat on it affter the loading step.
please advice.

Can you not use coupled temperature-displacement elements S4T/S4RT?

Better is to run a separate thermal analysis, save the temperatures and then load them into the second step if you want a thermal load.
