Hello,

I've made a model with Unigraphics NX5 on my pc but now I want to copy it to another pc. The problem is that the folder names are different and UG can't find the files anymore.

I also want to change the file names of all the parts and assemblies but I'm afraid that this will cause a lot of errors.

Is there a easy way or setting which will avoid all these errors?

Thank you!

You can set your Load Options so that you have search paths defined so that NX will look in the listed folders to find the parts. Or if you placed all of the components in the same folder, then all you need to do is use the current folder setting in Load Options.

As for copying an assembly have you looked at the Clone function yet?

To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

you can set your "assembly load options" to "search directories" and then specify where you want it to look by browsing to a level above where they are located, then after you've found the parts, you can set back to "as saved"
If i were you i'd only change the name of the top level part, then 'save-as" each part from within the assemly.
Athough if it's not a big assembly you could re-name them all, but only if you can remember what they were changed to , then you could right click on them in the navigator and "replace component"
To change the load options, go, file-options-assembly load options, then from the "load" drop down, set to "from search folders", then browse using the "add folder to search" drop down.

Thank you for the help, I will give it a try!
