RE: thread559-226021

I received the same exact Chinese error message today when loading an assembly. I have gotten it a few times in the past and cannot determine the cause or get it to repeat. I am using SW2009 x64 SP5.1. Apparently SW has not fixed this issue yet.

I've had that while running the same version of SolidWorks on Windows 7 x64. Must be some odd things in the code for stuff like that to pop up.

When you see a meassage like this, it is mostly because SW uses the "nearest" caracter set. Most importain is the number in the ende af that string. In this case it is (63)

The invalid argument (63) error is accompanied by a Non-Unicode string that may appear as a set of Chinese or similar characters.

In one instance of this issue the problem was identified as being an issue with the user's profile. Renaming the user's profile allowed the user to start SolidWorks again. Such an action will require the user to setup email and other customizations again.

It is easy to renew the user profile and that solves the problem.
