Hi
I am new at modelling cohesive elemtns in ABAQUS. I have been attempting to model a Double Cantilever Beam with a small end crack. I wish to use shell based cohesive elements to acheive this.
I am unclear what is meant by an idealised shell in the ABAQUS manual. I assumed it to be the top and bottom surfaces of the cohesive part, no side or end faces, would someone be able to confirm?
Following this methodology I Assembeled the model and applied boundary conditions. When I submit the job for analysis I get an error saying that section definitions have not been specified even though I believe I have specified the cohesive section to the orphan mesh. The problem may be that the elements are not specified through thepart but I do not know how to do this or if indeed this is the error.
I have attached the file on this post if anyone would be able to offer any help it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
