Hello everyone:

Quick question: what resource has all of the tables and charts for concrete design? There seems to be a decent amount of them, is there a convenient place to access/purchase them? What references are you referring to when designing concrete members?

I’ll probably be looking for more in the future, but the specific one I’m looking for at the moment is some charts regarding minimum steel density rho for temperature and shrinkage steel for footings. It’s just a list of tables based on f’c and fy and there’s a different table for different values of f’c and fy. I was currently using the appendix of a textbook but it doesn’t go down to 2500 psi f’c and the author doesn’t reference where the tables are coming from.

Where can I look to find a good source of this information? Thanks in advance:)

CRSI used to have some tables and graphs for column loadings vs. size, steel density and concrete strength. They also have tables for concrete joist design, flat slabs and a few other elements. See the TOC attached. But the edition I use is from 1992. It seems that now CRSI has broken their publications down by each element and I'm not confident the tables and charts are still in there.
But I've never seen temperature and shrinkage charts. It seems that if rho is a constant, you don't need a chart to tell you the reinforcing.

Do you mean in general? Like what codes to use for concrete design? If so, ACI is what you will need to use if you're in the US. It's more than just tables and charts unfortunately :) Just google ACI 318-14 and you should be able to find it pretty quick to purchase a copy. That's most likely the code year you'll need. or just get 318-19.

Or do you mean what JedClampett is talking about - CRSI-type volumes with tabulated capacities for certain member sizes with varying reinforcing, etc?

As for temp and shrinkage I made a very low quality spreadsheet for this quite a while back. Took maybe 5 minutes.

@JedClampett, CRSI doesn't seem to have what I believe I'm looking for, however, they do have a lot so it might be in there somewhere. You're using a constant rho for temperature and shrinkage reinforcing?

@dold, I mean what JedClampett is talking about. Would you mind attaching the spreadsheet?

See attached for the sample of the table I'm referring to in the OP. Note that it's just the first page of many similar ones with different values of f'c and fy. I'm under the impression that, for temperature and shrinkage steel, that you get the min rho required based on Mu/phibd^2. But f'c = 3000psi is the lowest f'c the table goes to and I wanted a 2500psi one, hence the original question. Also, I'm referring to temperature/shrinkage steel for wall footings, if that makes a difference.

Based on your initial post, I would have guessed that CRSI is what you were looking for too. That said, it looks as though you're more interested in tables for use in expediting a custom design rather than a canned design (CRSI).

A lot of concrete textbooks will have what you seek. Of the modern ones that I own, I would say that the one shown below is the best in this regard. I feel as though I've seen good stuff from PCA and David Fanella (CRSI now) too but I don't recall the particular documents.

Can you confirm that this recommended textbook does indeed have the tables I’m looking for? Wall footing temperature and shrinkage steel tables with f’c=2500 psi?
 
Is there a simpler calculation for concrete than T&S steel? Why do you need a table for that?

It'd take me much longer to look it up in some table than to punch it into my calculator. T&S steel is independent on concrete strength too.
