Connection of RC slab to double height columns using composite slab

I have an area in a residential building where I have double height columns, the column line right next to these column have a mezzanine with a cantilever slab sticking out. Now the clint wishes to not have double column are and convert it into two floors for office use. The question is how to cast and connect a slab to the existing cantilever slab and column so that they work as one simiply supported slab spanning between the two columns.

The solution I came up with was to have WF beam retrofitted to span between the columns, and steel deck with concrete slab spanning between the double height columns and cantilever slab. I will have embeds at regular intervals sticking out of the existing cantilever slab so as to connect to the new cast concrete above the steel deck and create a moment connection.

Is this a good effective solution? Is there any other more simple solution?

Do you have a sketch?

The existing column also has a droppanel which I excluded for simplicity.

Is there a backspan to the cantilever on the RHS? Is the little 'box' drawn below the drop panel? How thick is the panel? What load is the slab designed for (cantilever only? or point load at end?)? What are the foundations designed for? Can they take the added load? Can you use steel beams and metal floor deck in lieu of concrete? You might have to 'notch' the steel beam to accommodate the drop panel thickness. Lots of questions.

Yes, there is backspan I drew only this much out of simplicity.
Yes, the small box is a drop panel (I dont have bluebeam on phone sorry for the rudimentary drawing)
The slab and the foundation can take the new load. My only worry is how to connect new slab and old slab.
I can use steel beams, thats what I plan to as I explained, yes I will have a notch in the beam with plates at the notch as well.

My main question is how do I connect the slabs and ensure simply supported action.
